Still, the eGo C is a bit of a pain. You will enjoy the EVOD, so don't let the buyers remorse, if any, get in the way :)

Sent from my mobile. Ignore typos please.

Right! I was just watching a video of how to clean the atomizers for these guys. Perhaps they aren't quite the turds I was thinking they are. I do remember, when they first came out, many were complaining about inconsistency and there were a lot of tweaks and things suggested. I've never used one, but my general impression was that they were kind of a pita to deal with and not the easiest to get a consistent vape from.

I do think you will enjoy the evod. It's not a huge investment, and it will kind of open up your options when you know you don't have to stick with the atomizer that came with the battery.

If you want to fiddle around with the atomizers, it does look like you can clean them, burn them, etc... Might get some more useful life out of them while you wait for the evods. It would probably be good practice for when you get that rba someday, lol. From the video I watched, it can be done, but it did seem a bit difficult compared to working with the kanger bottom coil tanks.

I'm glad your vape is tasting better, but don't regret the evod, at least not until you try it.

Rachy_B I was having the EXACT same issue this morning. I had two Ego-C setups, with different juice. One tasted awfully burnt, the other tasted great. Visually I couldn't see a difference in the wick between the two. I ordered a couple of new things based on the advice here, but I think I need a crash course in ohms / resistance.

Okay, I'm no expert, but this I what I've learned...

Power is the rate of energy transfer, and its measured in watts. Your coil has a resistance to the flow of electrons through the wire. The amount of resistance to the flow of electrons is measured in ohms. Power can be calculated by this equation:

(Volts x volts)/resistance = power

So, if you have a voltage of 3.4 and a resistance of 2.5, you've got (3.4Vx3.4V)2.5ohms=4.6 Watts

But... If you have variable voltage, and crank your voltage up to 4.2V, then your power will be 7 Watts, with the same resistance coil.

Conversely, if you can't crank your voltage up, you can get a lower resistance coil. So, say you have a 1.8 ohm coil at 3.4V battery you get 6.4 Watts.

You can increase the power, or rate of energy transfer, by either increasing the voltage of your battery, or by decreasing the resistance (ohms) of your coil.

I'm sure that's not super technical, but its sort of the best that I understand it. Increasing power results in a warmer, more kicked up vape. Decreasing power makes a cooler, less powerful vape. There are limits of course, you don't want too much power or your juice will burn. You don't want too low of a resistance because it will suck energy out of the battery too quickly, which can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

She said she had an ego c. Are those the same as twists?

she said: "as everyone seemed to rave about ego-c's, particularly the twists, I thought I'd give it a go."

I assumed a twist on that, but not the case ;) eGo-c have the regular eGo-c, eGo-c upgrade and the eGo-c Twist.

Yes, I went back and read the op again, and that time I noticed the twist part. Don't know how I missed that the first time. I didn't even know the c came in a twist. I thought the twist was a twist and the c was just a fixed voltage. All the ego terminology has always confused me. Twist, t, c, type a this, and type b that. I can't keep it all straight.

Which ego-C do you have? The regular Ego-C, the Ego-C upgrade, or the Ego-C Twist.

The Ego-C Upgrade and Twist are variable voltage. On the Upgrade version you can change the voltage higher or lower by holding down the button for 5 seconds while it is in the OFF position. The color of the button will change to Yellow for a 4.+ voltage, and it will be Blue for a 3.7 voltage. The higher voltage can obviously produce burned taste in some juices.

If your tank is the problem replace it with a Kanger EVOD, T3S or T2, which have drastically less issues.

Get yourself 2 Ego-C "Twists" (batteries) and then buy some EVOD or other clearomizers to go on top (delivery system), and you'll be happy. :)

Perfect advice Racehorse. Upgraded from my 650 and god awful clearomizer & got the 900 twist VV battery and EVOD as suggested by my vape shop. Oh we're HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY! What a difference!
