So I am on my 5th day smoke free, I thought my eGo-T with type B tank were without any problems but my nightmare has finally came... Now the taste seriously tastes REAL bad!! I don't know if I am getting dry hits or maybe my atty is flooded. So the kit came with 2 attys, my first atty went tasting like ..... after the 4th day, so I took out the atty and rinsed it with hot water and let it dry and still tastes like ...... So now I am on my 2nd atty and it went tasting like ..... on the 2nd day...

I took out the wick and saw some of the strings were a bit black on the end facing the battery. Could it been burned? Should I pull out the wick from the sharp end so the wick won't get burnt?

Edit: So it looks like after I took out the atty, the string inside the cone that look like this: (-) was burnt to black. Pretty sure that's where the bad taste is coming from. How was it burnt??

Update: So I've cleaned the cone/atty/wick with hot water and Vodka... the taste is good now :)

BUT!!!!!! the paint on my steel color cone kind of came off! LOL This is pretty sad..

I wouldn't think your juice all the sudden went bad on you. Usually a good atty cleaning should
make it better, but since it didn't, I'm wondering if something is burnt? Do you have a carto to use as a test?
def not the juice... But it could be juice related since my wife's (same kit) is still working fine. She's only used 100% VG juice for these 5 days, but I have switched a lot of different tanks filled with 100% PG or 100 VG back and forth.

I just did a test... I pulled the wick a bit out from the sharp end so the wick on the other end will not touch anything, the result was WORSE, I've tasted 120% ..... and was getting NO smoke out of it lol, so now I pushed in the wick more into the battery side and its pulling a lot better and the .....y taste has went away a bit, but it's still there.

I have not yet tried to clean the atty, wick, and cone 100% yet, all I did was to rinse with hot water and let it sit dry.

No carto to do any tests. :(

Why would a word be .... in the body but not in the title ?
lol .....? I really couldn't find a better word to describe the taste.

When you hear a sizzle sound after you let go of the button, and it makes a diminishing "SSSHHHEEEWWW" sound is when the wick is not wicking right. That's when it tastes burnt. The wick needs to draw the liquid fast to burn right. I use mainly Tasty Vapor liquid, and it never worked very well in all of those little wick atty's and cartomizers, But it works perfect in ST Dual-coil cartomizers, and other cartomizers.

My brother who just started vaping and was using cartomizers and Tasty vapor, and didn't want to order online, so he started using e-liquid from a local store which is VG only. He said the VG Liquid didn't work in the cartomizers, so he started using the tank, and he says it works great for the VG.

I thought VG would be harder to wick through a small single wick, because it is so thick. But, I guess it is the other way around.

ya I did hear the SSSHHHEEEWWW sound once in a while. My wife uses 100% VG and shes never had a problem with her eGo-T. But I did realized her 100% VG juice is too smooth for the throat hit that I need.

I had a similar problem with my type A....turned out the wick got burned from being too dry. It turned out my tank wasn't being punched well enough and not enough liquid got through to the wick. Now I check that the opening is good and big before taking a drag and add a few drops of liquid to the atty before going. I have had some intermittent success getting the burnt taste out with an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Best of luck.

There isn't a one size fits all, in this vaping world. But you have the best batteries, and there are about 10 different kinds of atty/carts that will fit on your 510 batteries. If you found the best juice for you, then you'll have to find the best atty/cart for your juice. I am sorry, That is what you HAVE TO DO.

I have tried them all, and ever since I started using Smok Tech 1.5 OHM Dual-coil for my ego, and their single coil 2.5 OHM for my Very-able volt mod (for the last 7 months): I have been Living a Stress-free, Hassle-free vaping Nirvana!!!!!

I am pretty sure the hole are big enough... because I refill them, every time I pop back in the refilled tanks back into the atty, the hole should be opened up enough... But thanks for the cleaner tip, I will def use that tonight to clean the atty.

Damn, you are right... I think that's what I am going to go for.. CHANGE TO SOME NEW ATTY AND TANKS!! I really don't want me PV to get any bigger, so I am thinking to get the LR 510. What do you think? I've read mixed reviews of LR attys on the eGo-T though... Also will only changing the atty make my eGo-T better? Or should I change my set up to an eGo-C?

Try this....put a paper towel over the tank end and blow hard through the battery end for about 10 seconds. If you get a lot of juice on the paper towel, repeat the blowing until no more juice comes out. Then, twist the paper towel up where you can poke it down into the tank end all the way and do some twisting until you get the juice out. That's my routine every night with ours at bedtime and I don't reload the tank until I get up in the morning.

Every second or third night, I do the above procedure and then plop the attys in 153 proof grain alcohol overnight. Next morning I blow all the alcohol out, wipe them up, reassemble the e-cig and pop a freshly loaded tank in. I am also pre-punching my tank caps with a 12-ga surgical needle. No leaks, no drips, no runs....just the normal nightly cleanup procedures.

I've soaked them in water, plopped them in boiling water, done the baking soda/vinegar thing....limited success. I get consistently great hits, great taste, and going on two months with zero atty failures with the rituals stated above.

EDIT: I occasionally use 510 tanks on my eGO batts....good results even with the SR tank attys. I'm just now trying out my first cartos (Boge 2.0s) on the eGOs and and 510s. Great vape and good hits but taste suffers a bit.....seriously with the 510 after a dozen drags. I'm giving them a chance but I sure dig the eGO/VEC tanks.

At first I did blow the cone from both sides and a lot of juice came out... I did that for about 5 times then stopped. But ya, like you said "keep it clean", I will do that from today. But I am still wondering what caused my string (the string that looks like a string, you will see it in the cone after the atty is pulled out) burnt.

No, there is no difference between the batteries of the EGO-T, EGO-C or the EGO standard 510 attys. The only thing different is if you use the standard type of atty's you might want to use one of the tapered cones (Just to make them look better) you don't need them.

The standard 510 work good, I used them for a while, but there is some tweaking needed with them. Out of the box they don't wick that good, I changed the filler to blue foam, most people use drip tips with them and just drip a few drops for 5 to 8 draws at a time. And they do seep through sometimes, and leak from the bottom. But they do taste and vape really good, and last up to three weeks.

All attys/carts from 1.5 OHM to 2.5 OHM work good on the ego batteries, except the ST Dual-coil "2.5 OHM" work better at 5V.

Take my advice and try the ST Dual-coil 1.5 OHM first. Cartomizers are only around $2 a piece. There are all kinds of cartomizers now that work on ego batteries. Check out gotvapes.com, they have the newest clear Tankomizers.
myvaporstore.com has a box of 5 ST Dual-coil 1.5 for $9.

Your life will be much easier if you just abandon the "tank" systems, T or C, I reccomend against it. It's just not at a good consistent place yet. Get's some Boge cartomizers (LR or SR), a saddle valve (homedepot), and a mini-sub from mom and pops vapor...and try 70/30 mixes (they are the easiest to work with for now)...100% VG requires you to tinker a fair bit before getting your set-up to work well with it...

i have been using my ego t and the 2 atties is comes with heavily daily for probably 3 weeks now without cleaning and every now and then i get a nasty taste but its usually cause it dries out and i just draw without hitting the button for juice to wick down there. the atties do feel like they dont taste quite as good as new but for about 3 weeks of heavy use im surprised. i had a scenario like you where my atty tasted terrible after about a week or so (i feel like it was residue from using a somewhat darker juice) but i got in juice from a new vendor and the juice im getting now seems to work flawlessly on the ego t's idk why but it doesnt leave residue on coils and switching between flavors takes but a few drags without cleaning anything.

Can you tell me what %/% of juice you are using? 70/30?

im using 80 pg 20 vg - all my juices are that except a couple 100pgs- it wicks great in the ego t's, but seems to flood my smoktech dual coil tank or maybe i just do it wrong hahaha... i love me pg im kinda scared to up the vg as i have tried higher vg juices before and i always have bad luck with them gooping up atties quickly. just my personal experience tho.

i have a lot of new equipment and cartos on the way but im still thinkin about orderin some more ego t atomizers cuz i like the system its worked well for me, aside from i think it does dull the flavors considerably

yup my new batch of juice are all 80/20, 100 VG will get stucked real fast plus the throat hit is too smooth.

Update: So I've cleaned the cone/atty/wick with hot water and Vodka... the taste is good now :)

BUT!!!!!! the paint on my steel color cone kind of came off! LOL This is pretty sad..

Certain flavors will do that - esp. if the flavoring is oil based - some anise, some cinnamons and the 'hot' flavors - curry, etc. and yeah, it sucks but now I have a few 'stainless' batts :)
