Ego C Atomizer Problems

Status
Not open for further replies.
First atomizer lasted 9 days (rebuildable atomizer) and my second one lasted a day and a half. Im on my 3rd now. Im kind of paranoid about burning thru more of them and watching the cost go up. (I know its cheaper than cigs) Wondering if Im doing anything wrong or if this is pretty common.

If im not using the vape should I be taking the cartridge with the juice in it out of the cone? If it is in should I watch how I have it positioned as to not flood the atomizer?

Is there good ways to clean the atomizer and how often should I do it?

Should I just switch to a clearo or carto?

Im trying to go for the simplest most cost effective way to vape.

Thanks

Hi Beel,
I don't know what you got brand-wise, but the Joyetech ego-c has been good for me. I long since moved on to other things, but I am using it right now and have not bunrt a coil out yet.....since July.
The Kanger T2 is cost effective with $1 replacement heads.
Cartomizers are cheap in bundle deals at Surevapes.
I always take the c atty apart and dry burn and then soak in vodka

Im using the standard ego c atomizers with the cone and the regular cartridges

It is unusual to go through coils that fast on standard resistance... lr's are more liable to go.... unless you're vaping an SR atty on a VV batt where the voltage/wattage is too high. One a regular joye eGo-c batt, the coils units should last for months. One other factor would be if you had ejuice that had particulates, oils, sugars, in it where the coil gets gunked up rapidly....

I did some looking. The rebuildable part of the Joyetech C is the head. You just put a new one in. The other stuff I found was not Joyetech.
I never had a Joyetech C type A atomizer head die in that short a period. They used to last me about 4 weeks and more, medium use.
The owners manual has instructions on dry burning. I used to do that every other day with them.
I tried soaking in Vodka but they never came back like new.
May have a voltage issue, it's about the only other thing I can think of.

I switched to Clearos about nine months ago. Tried a bunch of different ones but keep coming back to the Kanger T2. They are easy to fill, don't mute flavor as much as others. They are durable. I am still using my first one (9 months).
Not all good, they do get some condensation in the center post and the will leak if the head is not on tight.
Heads last pretty long with most juices and are pretty cheap.

Would recommend giving them a try.

please can you send me a link for everything id need for that clearo set up

From a recent post...

The kanger T-3 is currently the best combination with the eGo, imo. However litecig isn't carrying the 1.8ohm coils so you may have to go elsewhere for those:

eGo 3ml Tabac BCC (Bottom Coil Changeable) Clearomizer

extra coils: 1.8 for strong flavors, 2.2 for light flavors.... 2.5 seems to weak for my flavors..(which is what litecig only sells )

eGo 3ml Tabac BCC Clearomizer - Spare Bottom Coils

kent, are the links you provided for the kanger t3 or something different? I dont think thats the kanger lol.

Now you mentioned the different ohms, if im vaping with an ego c 1000mah battery and copper creek house blend juice, will different ohms not work right or be damaging to the hardware or does it just change flavors

Kanger T3 and the Tabac BCC are the same.

1.8ohms won't hurt a 1000mAh batt. I suggest you get at least one T3/Tabac BCC at 1.8ohms and then an extra 2.2ohm coil for it. Ejuices can taste differently with different ohm'd coils on the same voltage battery. Usually stronger flavors like the 1.8ohm and lighter flavors do better on the 2.2ohm coils.

and are these a viable upgrade from the standard ego c rebuildable atomizer set up.. im looking for something with low maitenance.. low costs.. im not very handy at all had a little trouble at the start just with the rebuildables so i want to make sure im not getting in over my head

I believe they perform better than the eGo-c atty/tank system, yes. The eGo-c systems works but there are many things you have to do - not real technical though, to keep them in good working order. First, you should prepunch the hole in the cap of the tank - I used a ball point pen head that was just smaller than the diameter of the spike so there was a tight fit on the spike. On the A types, conal shaped, the soft caps were better for me than the hard caps that come with the kit. The B types were better with the hard caps, imo and experience.

On the eGo-c, I found the standard resistance coil units were the best - the lrs burnt the ejuice. The tanks could tend to leak toward the last 1/8-1/4 of the tank - this can also happen with the CE's and vision stardusts but haven't had that happen with the T3/Tabac's. I think they got the hydrolic/pneumatic system down on the T3's. I also like the bigger volume for ejuice on the T3 without going 'top heavy' like you get with the vivi nova and other bigger tank systems. If you're running a provari, the vivi's and the protanks are a better fit, imo. But I like the less expensive eGo's and don't really need a VV batt with readouts, etc., but some do.

HI Kent, when i bought from Litecig in June 2012, Joyetech ego-c and 5 more type "A", they were pre-punched.[ that is, hole already there] And I was surprised, no leaking.

I've seen prepunched as well. I prefer to do it with the pen though..... ;) I no longer believe that the main leaking issue with the eGo-c is the cap or the spike but the pressure system. The seals in the T3 appear to be properly placed. I'd like to see a seal around the spike in the eGo-c to stop the burning as well with LR attys, etc. etc.

Kent, Need you to hook me up lol and link me to exactly what you think i should buy (i want a clearo and a few replacement heads for it)

See post #9 for the links to the tabac bcc at good prophets. The T3 comes with a 1.8ohm coil and suggest getting a 2.2 coil replacement - 2nd link.... You could buy an extra 1.8ohm coils as well. For now, you should just need the one Tabac BCC clearo to see how you like it... Then more if you do. If you have two favorite flavors, then get two of the Tabac's but still get the extra coils.
