eGo-C knock off?

I've been researching like crazy. Something I probably should have done before I bought my PV. (hindsight is 20/20.) My supposed eGo-C doesn't have any logo on the bottom but it does have the word eGo-C written in white along the bottom rim of the battery.

By what I've been reading online (and we all know that everything you read on the Internet has to be true right?) if it doesn't have a logo on the metal part on the bottom then it isn't a genuine Joytech eGo-C.

Am I right in saying I have bought a knock off?

Great. I'm ticked off. What do I do now? They guy downtown is ordering some clearomizers for me. I don't even want to set foot in his store.

No wonder the first set I had leaked so bad. And he acted all hurt when he had to replace it for me. UGH! I hate people.
Confront him. He shouldn't be allowed to do that to anyone including you. If you confront him now, maybe someone else wont have the same problem as you.

She doesn't say that he told her it was a Joyetech. Just an Ego C. There are a lot of those out there. A lot of B&M's sell off brand stuff and some people don't know to ask if it is genuine.

An authentic Joyetech will have the logo on the end. As Tx posted, the word "eGo" has come to be used for most batteries of that style, the way Kleenex is used for tissues. People seems to have fewer issues with the authentic devices, but many people use generic models with no problems at all.

One thing to keep in mind through, Joyetech eGo are regulated devices, means they fire at roughly 3.3v consistently (unless it's a variable voltage device). The generics may be regulated (often around 3.7v) or unregulated. It appears most are unregulated. Any unregulated eGo battery comes off of the charger fully charged at ≈4.2v. It will fire at 4.2v at first, but as the battery discharges the voltage output goes down. I have been told it goes down, and then stays around 3.7v for awhile, before discharging further down to roughly 3.2v-3.3v when the light blinks for the battery to be charged, but without a meter I have no way to confirm this.

What does that mean to you? Not much, especially if you haven't been vaping very long. You may not notice anything at all or you may notice the vape is more robust when the battery is fresh, but gets weaker the longer it's used. If it bugs you, can switch to a juice delivery system with lower resistance when the vape feels weak.
