I can not write more now, because the product is not on the market.
As I can, I will write more and publish photos. I promise :)

All the best with your testing, good sir, and thanks for the info! I sincerely hope they do a pass-through 1000mAh version when they are released. That would absolutely be in my arsenal as soon as I could get my hands on one! :D

@Tomba: I have so many questions to ask you. I know you probably signed an NDA, so don't answer anything that you're not allowed to. If you wouldn't mind feeding this information back to Joye (or pointing them to this thread) that would also work:

1. What battery capacities will the "twist" be made for?
2. How much larger than a "normal" battery of that capacity will the twist model be?
3. Did Joye retain the colored charge level indicator button?
4. Will Joye be able to produce these as passthrough devices?
5. Any release date information, or even just timeframe (what quarter? is it this year?) that can be given out?

As an aside, whenever I use a passthrough, I always wonder why ecig vendors have stuck with the mini-usb connector instead of moving on to the micro-usb connector. It's smaller, but can still easily handle the voltage and current levels involved. My e-cig hardware is just about the only thing left in my house that isn't micro-usb. Just a thought....

I know right! It's the only thing in my house too.

Can't say I disagree. I only have 3 Micro-B devices in the house right now, and quite a few more Mini-B, but it would best to go with the version that the standard is moving towards.

In fact, I just ordered some "ruggedized, cloth-covered" Micro-B USB cables today for our cell phones that would be excellent for use on a passthrough battery.

I have the 3 step Ego knockoff bat now, and it performs ok i guess...nothing to write home about..

I am really pleased to hear Joytech is getting close to 5v with this one...I was worried it might not...

Do we have an anticipated price point yet????

No info on the JoyeTech web site yet other than the teaser pic.

I'd heard mixed reports on the 3-stage Ego knockoffs, so I avoided getting one. I have the 3-stage Piper-D passthrough and I like it a lot (though I've had to repair the wiring often). It made me really want a true VV Mod/APV, but I wanted to stay with an Ego sized battery out of personal preference.

It looks like the Twist is adjusted with a dial on the end which makes perfect sense, and keeps the Ego form factor.

I love my 900 mah ego-knockoff VV batt. It's kinda cheap though, and would love to have the real thing. But this will definitely tide me over until then, as it's so much better than an ego batt with an ego booster added to it. Which seems to have disappeared from all discussions lol I'm guessing the joyetech won't have the LCD that my current VV ego knockoff has, but that doesn't really bother me.

The supplier I use for hardware only is in China now and says they will be available soon and he'll order right away. Does anyone know enough to know if these have the added safety features of the UPGRADE model?

I guess the TWIST won't be available as a PT because of the switch being on the bottom?? Anybody concerned that boosting a 3.7 up to 4.8 will give only about 2 hours vaping time? I can't see them putting the UPGRADE safety features on these because of the added length.

Randy - I have three of the vv's and one was fine where the other two had a spec problem with the height of the center post - if you raise them carefully then no problem or if you tighten too much on a charger or atty/carto you may have to pick it out a bit again but they work as stated. Some did underload tests and while the straight multimeter test will show 4.2v on high, that is about 3.8-3.9 under load. Also have a friend with a sample Twist - no details but a rave review....

The eGo-c has some added protection without much added length - don't know about the 'upgrade' batts but should know soon - two on order as well as the upgrade PT. I'd be surprised if the Twist doesn't have at least the safety features added with the c - I don't think there's any going back on that with Joye but just a guess. A China supplier :) is selling off all earlier Joye batts at huge discounts - most already out of stock - other stuff as well.

I think it could be their biggest seller yet.

It wouldn't necessarily be a given that running at a higher voltage would decrease battery time; it depends on the resistance of the cart you use.

@Kent C: I know that many love them, which is why I've been very tempted to get one myself (tight budgets suck!). But I had a hunch that JoyeTech would eventually release their own. Looks like I was right! :)

It certainly does look that way, yes. :)
