I have a Twist 1000 coming tomorrow. Unfortunately all I have right now is 1.5 dual-coils. Is there any danger running this kind of load? I know 4.8V ain't gonna happen from what I've read here. Will the battery automatically correct the voltage if it's set too high or am I in danger of blowing it up?

My plan was to start around 4V and slowly work it up until I can't tell any difference in vapor/flavor.

Haven't received my Twist yet, hopefully tomorrow, but I did watch pbusardo's review on the Twist and he was running a dual coil on it without an issue. Can't remember the resistance. Might be worth a watch:

Dual coils run fine, but the Twist will drop the voltage to around 3.7V or so in order stay within its ~2.5A amperage limit. Mainly I stick to using Boge LRs and Stardusts on my Twist, where I find their sweet spots sit around 4.5V. Just perfect at that level for me.

Any luck? :)

How nice of you to remember and ask!!! Found her just last night under a sofa cushion and she is now in a lanyard around my neck so she can't hide on me again!!! I bought a lanyard a while ago but barely used it cuz I thought it was silly looking but I'm using it for now at least!

I just noticed while typing this I'm referring to my twist as "she". I only do that to objects I really like such as my cars and then I name them. Looks like the twist has wormed her way into my heart and now deserves a name. I've only named one other pv and that's my IPro who is "Butch" because he is one tough SOB. My Twist is pearlized pink so "Pearl" automatically comes to mind but that seems too obvious and sweet. Yes, I am just slightly touched!!! hahhahahha!!!

Got the Twist all charged up and it looks like the 2.5A limit is no problem. With my 1.5Ω it starts to taste burnt after 3.6V (2.4A) anyway, so I have no reason to go higher. I do have one 2Ω that I used and it provides a very nice vape at 4V. This may turn out to be my best kit purchase yet! I really like dialing it up when I need that extra kick and toning it down when I want to enjoy an extended vape.

Glad you are liking it. I cannot wait for my 900mah to arrive in the mail on Monday! I was hoping it would make it tomorrow, but I ordered to late:(

I hope that's not correct behavior. I am hoping the 900mah I have coming will last me the entire day. Currently, my 1050mah e-power gets me through the day with just a little to spare, maybe an hour or so to spare...

Well, I've had my 1000 twist for a few days now. I like it except for one thing. The charge doesn't last as long as the standard 650. I'm using the EMDCC, and usually don't go above 4V with the liquid I'm using. Anyone else notice a decrease in the time it's usable, or maybe I got a defective batt?

Just ordered a white 650mah (for size convenience) ego-c twist from ivape.com & I can't wait for it to come in!

I've been looking for a VV that performs well for a decent price (can't see myself ever ponying up for a provari), and based on all the reviews and raves I hope this is it!

I'm really looking for the right device to bring all the flavor out of my liquid/juices, and from what I hear I won't be disappointed. Will be back with a little review/thoughts when it comes in

I second the flavor statement. I know that it should help. For example, my butterscotch tastes different between between a 2.0 and a 2.4ohm clearo. Being able to adjust wattage without changing clearos should be life changing for me:)

I picked up a twist yesterday and would like to echo the sentiments already expressed on this thread. I love this thing! I am an avid Provari user, but I have to say the twist rivals it in vapor production and you can't beat the portability. I have been using it since last night with the original charge it came with and it is still going strong. I originally bought it to have something lightweight to hang around my neck while doing yard work. I think it may just become my regular out and about pv.

Now for a question. I've been trying to get my hubby to switch over to vaping. He is using a pv while driving in the company van, but he is still smoking everywhere else. His major complaint about using a pv is "ease of use", mainly the methods available to carry it around. I have suggested a holster, but since he wears a tool belt he doesn't think a holster will work. He also doesn't think a lanyard would work since he has to wear other things around his neck (safety glasses, etc.). What he thinks would work is a simple pocket clip so he could carry it in his shirt pocket without having to worry about it falling out all the time. Have any of you found a pocket clip that would work with an eGo twist?

Exact same thing happens to me.
I'm thinking it just may be a bum batt.
Works fine except for the fairly short batt life - mostly.
Does seem to lost 'oomph' through the day...

According to this thread, you can persuade these pen clips to fit if you expand the ring a bit.

Using higher voltage drains the battery, so as soon as you use above the lowest volt setting you are using up battery life, true for all devices. Just like my Provari & batts, if I vape at 4.8 my batts are draining at a higher rate than if I have it set for 3.7. Same for an ego, I have a VV ego, if I vape at highest setting my batts drain faster. I ordered a 1000 mah twist so will have to compare when it gets here. But anytime you use higher voltage you will use up batt life faster. bnrk

Glad to hear this! I use my Provari at home but need something to go out and about with. I have a VV ego and it is good, but I have to try the twist too for more options on settings. For portable and lightweight and ease of use, I don't think you can beat an ego. bnrk
