ego-C wrong form-factor

I tried the new ego-c batteries and IMO they got too hot too fast because of the small form-factor of the ego battery . I have a Joytech mod tube that takes a 18650 battery and I think that would have been a better form-factor for a VV mod . I really like the design of the Joytech mod tube but too bad that an ego booster won't work on it even though it is a PWM mod like the ego batteries . I guess if you don't chain vape too much they are OK but just OK . A 650mah ego-C is as long as a 1000mah ego battery and with VV does not last as long as an ego 650mah battery without VV although it does last long enough I suppose considering it is VV .

I've had mine for over a week and I haven't noticed it heating up. I generally chain vape with it set at 4.0. Mine is a 1000mah, though, not a 650.

I am using it with the ego-C SR insert and it does get hot fast for me after 3 or 4 puffs in a row then I have to wait a bit for it to cool a bit at 1/2 setting or a little above 1/2 .

Its not the battery that is heating up, its the atty, and heat spreads over. Nothing wrong with the form factor of the battery.

no it is the batt that heats up. I've noticed it too. But it doesn't get too hot.

I've had my VV Ego Twists (650's) for a couple of weeks now and they work fine, with no heating up at all.

I use LR atties in mine, and find that if I chain vape some, the area around the base of the atty cone does get pretty warm. Not hot enough to concern me, but noticable. Especially if I put it back into a pocket before letting it cool off.

FWIW.... I have the same thing happen on my lava tube when I am power hitting it and its definitely the cartomizer producing the heat because in my case that is what is the hottest.

Yeah, my LT does the same thing as well. At first I worried it was the battery but it isn't, it's the carto.

Yep so with ya on that Chelly! Actually if it wasn't for the fact that I remembered Cobber telling me at the vape meet he thought the same thing with his LT I would been panicking and pulling the battery and running away

It's an honest and understandable question because I know I would have been asking if someone else hadn't mentioned it in RL.

if the atty gets warm that's fine. They all have heating coils to convert the ejuice to vapor. If it is the battery heating up or getting warm I would stop using the battery. carto or attys should not draw enough current to heat a battery.

It is the atty getting hot but that was not the point . It gets so hot that the area around the button on the battery and top of battery gets hot too fast . On a larger mod that isn't as much of a problem . Also I like a larger form-factor because they stand on a table top better . The ego is ok because it is a lower voltage so it stays cooler . My point was that a VV device such as this does not work as well on a thin battery design such as it is now . Perhaps it is just the way I like to vape with longer draws for more vapour and the fact I take 3 or 4 vapes at a time . At work I have it on a lanyard with summer coming a hot ecig may not be so good against my chest .

Bdbodger, I agree that the atty and battery can get hot when chain vaping, with both eGo Twist and non-Twist batts. I've been using a Vision eGo (Stardust) Clearomizer the last week or so with a Twist and I've noticed nothing gets hot when I chain vape. Coils are at the top and there is a lot of 'stuff' between them, the battery and your fingers. It fits the eGo batts nicely and will fit into the lanyard. It also IMO makes for a very nice vape. Doesn't address the other issues, but if the heat is your biggest concern, this might help IMHO.

When I chain vape I have found a clogged atty to get extremely hot and I'll put it down. Some of that heat does transfer to the top of the battery, but it's not the battery overheating.

I don't have a VV rather an ego-c 2 usb, but I get the point about a different form. I was looking at the ego mods the other day, do you like it BdBoger? Any disadvantages other than what was mentioned? Just curious

The Joytech tube mod is a really nice mod . It works like any ego does only it takes a 18650 battery so you can put a 2600mah battery into it and it will last a very long time . Like I said it won't work with the ego booster though but does work with a LR cartomizer . It feels nice in the hand and stands up on end really well . It is actually shorter than the provari mini with extension cap which takes a 18500 battery . That is because so much of the space on the provari mini is taken up by the curcuit board .
