I just got my first vaporizer kit in today. eGo-U CE4. http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/6231/2fv9.jpg

I filled the atomizer it came with, took a draw from it, it worked. No button on the battery - it seems to just recognize when you're drawing from it and the light at the end of the battery glows red, showing it's active.

I then filled a f16 clearomizer tank ( http://www.canadavapes.com/store/image/cache/data/F16 Clearomizer - 1-500x500.png ) but was unsure how to do it properly. Initially I dripped the liquid down the sides, but it was giving dry draws. Then I read that the first time you fill it you have to drip drops directly down the middle tube. I did so, but when I drew from it there was a gargling sound, and liquid was oozing down the bottom and all over the battery.

I took it off wiped it all down, plugged in the atomizer that came with my eGo-U CE4, but noticed there's liquid seeming to come out of the BOTTOM of the battery !!!?

Now when I just tilt the battery (the big black part is what I'm referring to) upside down, even WITHOUT a vaporizer hooked up to it, the red light comes on. If I tilt it back horizontal, it goes off. If I keep it upside down vertically, the red light stays on for a couple seconds, then blinks, and goes off.

If I do this with a vaporizer attached, it's actually ACTIVATING the vaporizer! Which would mean I wouldn't be able to keep this thing on me as it would be activating as I move around!

When I had the leaky f16 tank hooked up, have I somehow managed to get liquid INSIDE of the battery and wreck it!? It's leaking out of the end: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/4493/ti1h.jpg

What am I doing wrong???

If it was mine I would try shaking the hell out of the battery. Not like a salt shaker. I mean using gravity and try flinging out the excess juice inside the battery. Honestly though I don't know how you could go about cleaning it out. It may be brokended now. I hope someone comes along with a gooder idea than mine. Wish I had a better answer for you. good luck to you

I think I know what happened: it's the Ego-U which doesn't have a button to activate the heating coils. You just suck through it and it turns on automatically. So it must have some sort of sensor in the battery that sees air flow, and when it senses something flowing, it turns on.

The liquid must have ran down into this area and it was turning on by itself just by moving the battery around, because it was sensing movement (the liquid that leaked in).

The liquid in that area must have evaporated because it is working fine now.

I'm still having problems with that f16 clear tank though. It slides apart from both ends and I can't seem to use it without making a mess of things :(

OK, you have an automatic (probably a knockoff) eGo-class battery. They are not sealed, so you most likely killed it--the juice flooded the internals and the switch got stuck. There may be a way to clean the juice by immersing the battery in 99% Isopropyl alcohol and then letting it dry. Or you may try to put it in a bag of rice and hope for a miracle--the latter almost never works, but many people try that method before giving up. Since you have a dead battery, you don't have much to lose. :)

I have an f15 Boge carto tank and I like it a lot. Here's a video--there are a couple of bad words in it, but he shows you how to fill it. Make sure you fill the cartomizer first--either by dripping into it or using a syringe or a needle-tip bottle. Then fill the tank. No carto tank will work if you don't prime the cartomizer FIRST!

Katya: It might be a knock-off. Says eGo-CE4 (tm) on it though.

Anyway, it's working fine now. I guess just using it cleared the air way with the sensor.

As for the f16, the guy says it doesn't leak, but when I put liquid in down the middle of it to prime it, it drips out the bottom in the middle. Maybe that just happens when you first prime it?

I've got black licorice flavor in their now but it just tastes like burnt smoke, so I'm guessing I probably burnt out the wicks inside by not filling it properly (priming it) when I first used it. :(

If it tastes burnt, it is. Cartomizers are prone to burning--it's the filler surrounding the coil that burns. Disassemble your tank, throw away the burnt carto, wash everything out and dry and start all over. If you follow the correct filling procedure you shouldn't have problems--unless your tank is defective, which is always a possibility.

Do you have spare pre-punched Boge cartos? If not, you need to get some. Cartomizers are disposable, even under ideal conditions.

Thanks! Looks like the 5-pack on this page is what I want (this is the site I order from): Search

Just make sure your cartomizers are pre-punched, like those below (if they are not pre-punched, you'll have to do it yourself, and that takes some skill):

Boge F16v2 Tank Replacement Cartomizer 1.6-2.0 (5pk) - $5.75 : VapeLite your source for Boge quality electronic cigarettes, Boge electronic cigarettes

Your site doesn't provide that information. They don't even tell you if this is the Boge f16 tank or what is the resistance of the cartomizers--you want LR (low resistance, 2.0Ω. You may want to send them an email to find out.

Anyway, this is the carto-tank that I'm using:

BOGE F16 TANK CARTOMIZER 4ML - $4.75 : VapeLite your source for Boge quality electronic cigarettes, Boge electronic cigarettes

Good luck.

My advice, don't use it! Batteries can be dangerous especially when wet! Return it if you can, if not it was a learning experience. Spend a few more bucks and start with a winder or at least an Evod kit which are pretty bullet proof.

Really is a bummer you got bad gear right off the bat, don't let the experience make you shy away from vaping!

Hehe, yah, it wasn't the battery itself that got wet. It's an 'automatic' battery that turns on when you suck through the atomizer. The liquid just got down in that little air way that the battery monitors movement in. All is well, aside from the fact that I have regular 'tobacco' flavor in the tank and it has a hint of black licorice in it each time I take a draw from it - which I really like actually! :D I think I might do this on a regular basis from now on. Fill up a tank of tobacco flavor, and once in awhile add just a drop or two of a flavor that's sweet. Not enough to kill the tobacco flavor, but just enough to give it a bit of different flavor mixed in, there in the background.
