Cylinder holds the most. Other than that, can't help you haven't used either yet.
Well, I just got done messing with all my miscellaneous junk laying about. So far, I've been playing with the cone type for a day or so. I've had the cylinder type for about 3 weeks.
Diffferences, aside from the blatantly obvious shape differences, the cone cart is considerably smaller. The cone type cart is pretty close to an 801 cart size, but holds a little more fluid than an 801.
Vapor production is pretty much identical. One thing which may be a selling point is that the cone appears to be better when it comes to the leakage around the cart/atty junction. Hasn't leaked or developed any of the seepage that i get around the cart/atty junction that the cylinder type does. It may have this issue after a few refills or after I play with it for a few days, but so far its cool.
The cylinder holds about 1ml more juice, give or take. I've just started putting some blue foam in the empty mouthpiece that came with the atty. I'm betting that it will fare better than the cylinder cart with this filler mod, as i have yet to find a blue foam size that the cylinder type will work with.

The Cylinder type atomizer is equivalent to the Cone type atomizer in terms of vapor production. They use different cartridges, and both holds about 1.8ml of liquid. Aside from the difference in design, they work/perform at an equal level.
I'm not sure which carts you're using, but the ones I have for the cone type are definitely smaller capacity. The cylinder type holds approximately 2.50 ml and the cone type are holding roughly 1.5 ml.
FWIW, the blue foam mod in the cone type looks good so far using a piece of blue foam cut 1" wide by 1.5" folded in half and stuffed in. No leaks as yet, but still testing.

I may have erred in my pick between the two. I am waiting for my Mega Cone atty to come in. I like the looks of the mega cone atty and ordered it thinking that both held the same 1.5ml. I think that two carts will get me through a long day.
OTOH, the cylinder, as I am discovering, holds more. You say that they are about equal in terms of vapor production? Does the atty coil look wider and larger than the 510 atty?
Someone said that the cone mega doesn't seem to leak like the cylinder mega. Can you see a reason why one would seal better than the other?

The cylinder bridge in MUCH larger than the 510. I haven't seen the cone atty, so I can't compare. As far as leakage, I think it just because the opening on the cyl cart is HUGE. It is harder to stop leakage w/ a larger opening(I won't go into a pun that just crossed my mind
).
Oh, and the cyl cart sucks up most of a 3ml bottle. So, yes it must hold more since the cone cart is only rated at 1.5ml.
