Last night when the battery ran pretty much completely down I turned off the lights to go to bed and saw this blue flashing light. Turns out it was one of my Ego batteries, it was blinking rapidly and would stop. I had to try pushing power button 5x several times and the battery finally shut off (maybe because it was fully drained.) I figured it might be ok with a full charge.. I charged it and the bf took it to work, he said it's been firing on its own in his pocket and he can't shut it off. I'm assuming this thing is trash because its gone crazy but is there any way to either tinker it back to life or should I pull it apart and dispose of it?

Probably cant be fixed by tinkering.. Get a new One would be my advice. You dont want a device firing on its own. It is not worth the problems or dangers.. As long as there is no atty on it probably not a threat.. Check it out for awhile to test before discarding it though. might start working again..

I found this just the other day at work with one of my batteries that has seen some serious action over about 8 months. I screwed it in to charge just to top it up before I went on a small road road trip and it flashed as it does normally, but the LED stayed lit. After a bit of messing around I found that it wouldn't shut off. I screwed the topper on to see if it was actually firing, which it was. I just left it in one of my empty steel cupboards in my workshop and let the battery drain before simply tossing it. For the price of them, it wasn't worth tinkering to me. It had certainly served me well!
