I've been trying out these Kgo mega batteries and I love them, but now I'm starting to wonder if they're not junk. First one I tried worked great, so I bought I second. I charged it, put it on a smok dual coil cartomizer and tried to hit it, but the button just flashed red/white/blue really quickly and wouldn't produce any vapor. I messed around with it over the course of a few days and somehow managed to get it working again. However, yesterday I dropped the OTHER battery (the one that was working just fine) and now it's pulling the same thing too, and I can't get it work either unless I BARELY screw the battery to the carto. What does the red/white/blue flashing mean? I've done the gently pulling up on the center pin trick. It didn't have any effect. Does anyone know any other tricks or know what could possibly be happening?

I suspect dual coil. See my thread on dual coils - probably pg 2 or 3 in this forum. Here:

Try a single coil on the batts but if they're fried that won't work either.

I don't get it. When I bought the KGO, the vendor specifically recommended that I use it with Smoktech dual coils. That's the reason I bought it - because those are the cartos I like and wanted a mega battery that would work with them. I've read through your thread and many of those Google results, but everything points to adjusting the pin or the carto and/or on the battery. I've done both and it's still not working. I can get it to hit if I screw it on VERY lightly and then push the carto and battery together when it hits the sweet spot. Absolute pain in the ... though. So I need to use single coils? What is your recommendation? I've been vaping a long time, but I've been using the same setup for a long time as well and I'm overwhelmed with all of the options out there. I just want something simple and inexpensive. Thanks in advance for any help.

I said I 'suspect' dual coils. Doesn't mean that's the cause. And if you've used them successfully in the past, then that isn't it.

Have you contacted the vendor? If not I'd do that at this point.

The way you describe what's happening sounds like a short. There should be no reason that you can get a good draw by lightly tightening then pushing the two together. Tightening should do that but it may be a center post off center or it goes off center when tightening by threads.

As far as alternatives, I've tried quite a few and have landed on Joye eGo-c upgrade batteries and Kanger T3S clearos.

Thank you. I asked the vendor, but because I had purchased them more than two weeks before I tried them out, he wasn't willing to help me at all. Said he never heard of anyone having that problem. I won't be buying from him again. However, I found some single coils I'd like to try. Do you think KGO works best with a 1.7ohm or 3.2ohm cartomizer?

I prefer @1.8ohm for strong flavors and 2.2ohms for lighter flavors, but hat's at 3.4v constant on the eGo-c. The newer KGO's are a full 3.7V so I'd expect that 2.2ohm would be good for strong flavors and perhaps 2.6-2.8 ohm for lighter flavors. 3.2ohm coils are more for 5 volt batteries.

the wire that completes the circuit is loose. a common practice is instead of soldering a bare end of wire is placed under the bottom of lip of the connector before its pressed into the battery tube. this completes the circuit without the use of solder. unless done precisely the wire tends to come loose creating a floating connection. this is the most common problem with ego style batteries. it is the ground wire for the mini-circuit board.

Just to update, I tried the 2.2 CE4 Clearomizer on my 2200mah Kgo mega battery and I REALLY like it! There's no more crazy red/white/blue flashing either. Apparently, the vendor who suggested that these Kgos be used with dual coil cartomizers had no idea what he was talking about. LOL Maybe with the 1300mah Kgo they work, but certainly not on the 2200mah Kgo. Thanks!!!!

I'm having really great success with the Ego-T 1300 mah battery & Kanger Pro 2. I also use the adjustable air flow base, the one with 3 air holes. Coils last at least 2 months & the battery/tank last all day and then some. It fits my hand and my pocket too !!! ecig.jpg
