Yes it will work as that is the same board that is in the eGo 18650 mod and eGos made by joyetech. The board has a built in switiching regulator that employs PWM (pulse width modulation) that regulates the output between 3.0 and 3.7V giving you an avg of 3.3 - 3.4V from start to finish. Although it is not what folks consider a true 3.7V vape, there is no such thing as a true 3.7V vape as the battery sags during its operational cycle.

Got a question for ya Switched.
I'm fixing to purchase an eGo 18650 mod myself.
I'm speaking for the Version 2 head. Why do some vendors like COV & GP state protected Batts wont work, while other sites like Stormy's Vapor Cellar say AW IMR's are fine?

I read somewhere that the "High drain" batts put a strain on the head, causing it to fail?

Ah my good man, not a simple answer.

I have been using mine for quite some time now with an AW 18650 IMR (nippled version) without any issues. although 18 of 18650 stands for battery diameter and 65 stands for length, and the zero = cylindrical most protected batteries are 67 - 68mm long (68mm being AW LI Ion) Because of their length the AW LI Ion is too long it is difficult to screw on the power module, which may lead to cross threading the power module.

Now I cannot attest to other brand batteries as all I use is AW. I use AW because of their consistency wrt performance and battery specifications, to include but not limited to dimensional integrity.
