personally, that's why i decided to stay away from less expensive items that need to be replaced. i shelled out $200 for a mechanical apv, but it will last a lifetime and has a warranty to match.
all different strokes i suppose.

There's logic to your thinking too erictho. Your issue could potentially be obsolescence. As they say, we all have issues. :)

Tripple digits half way to home
I was going through a couple of closets looking for a needle threader. (Different story but I know it's there in my bracelet material). Low and behold I've found a box with 16 different flavors I didn't even know I had. l better start looking all around in the car, the trunk, in the laundry basket. Every where. Who know what I'll find next. Sorry wrong post.

Had it not been for my GENUINE Ego Twists from altsmoke, I would still be smoking cigaretres. And I would not be a proud member of this forum and this subculture. Yes, the numbers are teeny tiny, and they are hard to see. But they are an inexpensive and uncomplicated way to introduce new vapers into the world of vv devices. They are great devices based on portability and ease of use, and I will swear by them long after I upgrade to the next level.

...so there!

Maybe I can shed some light here, or give a different perspective. I have ordered 30+ Ego-c Twist batteries, 650, 950, & 1000mAh’s in 6 mts., from Myvaporstore.com, because so many broke & I was new to this. They are listed as OEM from Joyetech. Currently, I have 5 good ones left. Only 1 arrived d.o.a., promptly replaced by MVS. The remaining batteries went bad/were retired because of 1 of 3 issues:

About 5 due to faulty buttons (straight up poor QC)

About 5 due to the possibility of juice that leaked into the batteries(?) (Clearomizers & my fault(?))

About 5 due to dropping once or twice, causing the top tip portion of the battery to SEPARATE from the battery, causing exposed and disconnected wired (poor QC- tip should be secured better as to not become separated from 2 drops, no doubt)

And 15+ due to something that I will classify as, in my opinion, 50% my fault & 50% poor QC.

These last 10, I consider to be rare & unusual circumstances because of the manner in which my 50% fault came to be.

To save everyone the actual unusual circumstances, I’ll simply say that, while at work, I would keep my ‘pipe’, as I’ve nicknamed them, in sort of a holder on my belt. I never learned; about once a week, I’d accidentally bang the pipe into a door frame or something similar, while it was on my belt. Each time, like clockwork, this caused the Clearomizer to become separated from the battery. This also caused some wires to disconnect from the small motherboard. Upon looking further into the damaged batteries, I noticed how brittle the wires AND connections seemed, my opinion, poor QC.

3 QC issues: poor connection for battery tip,
weak, brittle wiring,
poor wire connections,
bad button support,
unsealed battery tip (leaks from above)

I don’t know why, but I am still faithful to the Ego-c Twist.
I have learned how to better take care of/maintain them more as time went on. I am currently trying to solder the broken wires, with success on my first battery. One member posted that there is a 2 yr manufacturer’s warranty on these. HOWEVER, MVS offers only a 14 day warranty, can someone help me understand?

Honestly id rather spend $25 on a twist as opposed to a $200 provari.

I have several twists with ZERO mechanical issues.

If by odd chance I were to lose my twist or fatally drop it/break it, I lose $25, if that happens with a provari, you're out $200...

If you are deep in the e-cig hobby & a provari or expensive mod is just another bit of your collection, that's cool.

But if you have nothing, I would never recommend starting with an expensive apv, just doesn't make sense. That's like saying a 16 year old with a new drivers license should drive a BMW because its made better & will outlast.a old junker.

Of course... I come across this post as I am anxiously awaiting my Joytech Ego Twist )the ad says authentic) to come in the mail. I read the OP and thought "oh great". But as I read on, my confidence has been restored... at least untill I get my twist in the mail.

I have 3 that are 5 months old and going strong, knock on wood. If juice gets into the battery end, make sure to use a tissue to dab it out. Also, regular cleaning of the battery connection with a q-tip dipped in alcohol, and also clean the connection of the charging cable will go a long way in keeping it working well. Juice left in the end of the battery can seep down into the button area.

The Twist is actually a pretty good device. I fought and fought against getting one (they're not FULLY VV, only go to 4.8!) Well, lo and behold, my vaping sweet spot right now is between 3.8 and 4.0 volts. I realized I didn't need to go higher to enjoy my juice. And I love, love, love my Twist.

I am OC about my Twist, as well as my other PVs. I do my best not to drop them. So far my Twist is still in pristine condition. I accidentally dropped my Kgo VV, and in my knee-jerk reaction, I kicked it on accident when it fell instead of catching it. It's an unfortunate looking device right now. And I'm all about aesthetics.

If you're on the fence about getting a Twist, go ahead and get it. You just might be pleasantly surprised.
