Are the "eGo User's Group" and the "eGo Type Models" sub-forums somehow connected?

If possible, I think it could be interesting to have all "eGo User's Group" threads under "eGo Type Models". What do you think?

The short answer to your question would be no. Although I can understand your interpretation of the two. It does seem that a lot of eGo conversation is indeed going on on the "Type Models" which my interpretation is for anything that is not created/manufactured by JoyE, but are the knock offs of the "eGo" perse.

This is the intent of this user group. Prior to the re-vamping of the forum, joining the group was by invite only and you needed to own an eGo. Now that the user group is public, it is our intention to maintain the purity of the JoyE product to discourage all conversations wrt the knock-offs, and encourage such discussions to take place in the "Type Models" sub forum. I hope I clarified matters for you and answered your question.

What I was meaning is the opposite. I think that the "eGo Type Models" sub-forum is for *any* eGo type model, not only for those *not manufactured* by Joye. I also think that any thread inside the "eGo User's Group" may be interesting for those coming into the "eGo Type Models" and, since the group is open, it could be interesting to have those threads automatically copied inside "eGo Type Models". Just a thought, it was not my intention to promote anything.

The operative word there is "Type" that was put there to clarify that it is not just for Joye/Janty eGos. Otherwise it would simple be called eGo models, not eGo Type models. Get it? Here is the place for only Joye/Janty eGos.

I get it and edited my post in order to be more clear. What I was trying to clarify is my point of view, once that Switched said:

...which my interpretation is for anything that is not created/manufactured by JoyE, but are the knock offs of the "eGo" perse.

I think this statement is wrong but if you think it is true, just confirm it to me.

I'm not sure if you got what I was trying to say, do you?

I believe I understand what you are saying and you are correct the JoyE manufactured eGo can be discussed in the Model Type sub.

However, to maintain the purity of the "eGo" user group, this sub will be used exclusively to discuss "eGos" manufactured by JoyE. There is a reason for that and it is quite clearly explained in the sticky. Stu and I know that this may not suit everyone, but it is in the best interest for all concerned that the purity of the eGo be preserved. It is a long story and not one I am prepared to go into.
