I have a question. I don’t know if anyone has experienced this or not with the Ego One Mega. No matter what mod I put the tank on, it is not seeing the atomizer. The mods are capable of handling 1.0 ohms so I know this is not the issue. I have even tried tightening down the coil but still no luck. Is it possible I have a bad coil?
I you have the 1 ohm CLR. Mine all read in the mid .9s would that be a problem for your mod?

Thanks puf and Foggy.

sure sounds like a bad coil

unless you can see something obviously wrong (like center pin missing) about all it can be ;)

I am going to try a new coil.

I don't think so because this is not the first coil i have used. All out of the same 5-coil pack.

Smok R-Steam Mini. set to 'steel'. Hit setting 'Norm' had it up to 330F Just the pulsing was so noticeable that it was annoying. 25mm a try won't fit the Pico to find out if there's a difference.

oh boy, don't do SMOK so I can't be of much help with that unit :unsure:

haha, went to watch a video on the R Steam and got side-tracked

Haven't tried again. Was just fiddlin around since I apparently got that "other" tank up and running. I've pretty much just ignored anything about TC, I'll need to do some research before I take an earnest shot at it. I'll get back to checking out TC once I put an SS build in a Mega so I can switch between the Smok and the Pico to see if one does it better than the other.

Really not that thrilled with the Smok anyway. Once I get by the house to pickup my 2nd Pico the Smok shall become a dedicated battery charger.

So much for the flavor wick idea... yechh. I primed it well, and let it sit for couple of hours, before trying it.

Singed rayon. Oh well, experimenting is still fun!

I usually run the juice control ring fully open. I raised it up one full turn. Flavor doesn't seem to be suffering. Will see if there's any less condensation / juice in the bottom, when I rebuild in a couple of days.

It most certainly is! Pushing the old Kanger coils and tanks to be all they could be filled many idle hours for me until I just couldn't get any more out of them.

Right? I still have 5 boxes of Boge cartos (and 2 boxes of Smok cartos) because some time in 2010 or 2011 I decided that I found my vaping bliss...

I also have 5 (BAZILLION) boxes of Boges.......... someday, right?

May be "Old School"...but I still have 2 IBTanked CartoTanks in my At Home Rotation...

Extremely easy to refill...in some juices bring out hidden "notes"...and give me a unique and enjoyable vape...

I almost added a flavor wick yesterday. I'm glad I didn't!

I've always loved a karto vape. I'm actually running one tank in rotation, too! Every now and then, it's just fun, and I like the variety in vapes!

I ended up rebuilding it today. There was a lingering singed rayon taste in the wick, that I thought would disappear, but kept hanging around.

I went back to familiar territory, with the juice control ring fully open. Back to normal now. Or at least my normal.

I get condensation / juice into the chamber below the coil on my Tron-S as well. I just figured it was the nature of the beast, and lived with it. I rebuild my CLRs about every 3 days or so. I cheat a little on my cleaning. When I have the coil out, for a rebuild, I leave the tank base sitting up on edge, so that all the liquid in the base, runs down to one side. I cut a thin strip of paper towel that fits in the hole and just stick it inside to soak up the liquid, while I rebuild the coil. It's not a textbook 'cleaning', but buys me some time. I rinse out the base every 4 or 5 rebuilds, and dry it out with an air compressor. I should do that more frequently, but I usually do my coil work in the late evenings / night, and the compressor in the basement makes such a racket that it wakes everyone else up..lol. The paper towel trick helps keep the peace.
I wind my coils on a 6 x 32 machine screw, which is just a tad bigger than 2.5 mm (5 wraps of 30 kanthal). It's wicked with rayon, and the juice control ring is fully open. I'm going to experiment more, with the juice flow ring and see if it helps reduce my condensation / juice build up, too. I've never had a dry hit on a CLR, so maybe I have enough leeway to squeeze the rayon a little.
A little side thought: I've never tried them, but have read about 'flavor wicks' laid over the top of coils. I wonder if that would help burn off some of the unburned juice that might be ending up below the coil?
I might give that a whirl, on my next rebuild.

after many many tank cleanings, I've come to a basic Set Program I do ALMOST every time:
if I am keeping the SAME flavor juice: remove base, tank sits upside-down, take base/coil to sink & rinse it ALL off very well
I used to try and ½ hearted this step, but it really is much more simple to just take the base/coil and RINSE IT ALL OFF (start fresh) then, new wick OR wire & wick :)
if I'm gonna swap eJuice, just rinse out tank then blow it out, good enuff...

gave very little thought of a flavor-wick till Cheech brought it up - believed in them inside the Kanger bcc coils, but only a stray thought for the CLR
I rolled one up once and layed it inside; didn't seem right, took it out & never pursued it any further :|

I think my favorite/best CLR build is the big 3mm I.D. wire with a big fat wad of rayon stuff'd inside

2.5mm is second, or is that first...
and gerrymi is lying - he don't even vape - he just made a character that vapes in a video game that he plays...

I had to do the same thing today...

same happened to me, something I DON'T LIKE about my new Smart Box is ya CAN'T break in the coil by turning down the power to slowly climb up
so I FINNALLY just rewicked to get that slight burnt taste out of my face...
