I really want to like the kayfun. So many people love them, and I bought five of them (mostly Lite Plus V2s) for $9.95 each. For whatever reason, I just can't get them right. I know it's me, and I'm pretty sure I'm screwing up the wicking somehow even though I've tried about half a dozen times. Just keep getting an almost burnt taste.

The eGo One with the CLR, on the other hand, just floats my boat. I like everything about them, including the 2.5ml you mentioned. Terrific flavor.
Yeah, flavor and vapor. :) The KFL's are good, but they do add some weight.I use rayon, and in my KFL's with a 2.0mm dia. coil, I get the wick to fit pretty tight, and the wick ends to just barley touch the top of the juice channel on that ledge leaving the wick coming out of the coil straight, and not pulled down.

I know just what you mean, I've had several of the "Top Tanks" and have never been too happy with them.
I'm a big fan of the K.I.S.S. principle. The EO fulfills that to a T. :)

glad to hear many are having success with the ego one tank system

I know I have many and at the time, it is the only tank I use (with exception of one)

it just continues to perform great without fail and has for a long time between the wife & I both

The CLR does make this tank. Without it, it'd be just another tank you throw the coils away.
Enough of those around. At the other end of the spectrum, tanks designed by constipated
engineers with tiny screws and touchy wicking systems that have a learning curve somewhat
like pushing a boulder up a hill.
Even the most hesitant of vapers can pull a wick and rewick these coils making them a great bargain
in addition to a fantastic vape!
And they lend themselves to experimentation with coiling wires and wicking materials.
@pufZeppelin has it right who the star is.

Oh, I tried liking the Kayfuns too, but I just couldn't get my head around them......bulky and heavy. I felt I was missing something cause so many folks like them, but it's all good cause ya know.....diff strokes and all that.

Give me my EgoOnes and my GS Airs and my trusty carto tanks and I'm a crazy fool vaper.

ETA that the STM isn't as bad IMO, especially the Nano which is like rebuilding an Evod which is the first topper I ever rebuilt.

:w00t::lol::w00t:

I'm just not sold on the kayfun (gave up on them over a year ago)
for as many people that hoop-n-holla and dance around with their finger in the air
I also thought I must be missin' sumthin...
mine works good, easy to build - BUT
it's to hard to tear down, to heavy, and flavor to me is no better (I can spend my time a better way)

- - -

I am also fond of the versatile, solid, SubTankMini (STM)
no doubt the nicest 'kit' of all the tanks available...
if it would of had an 'option' for a less glass (say a SS tank)
I'd probably have a trunk full of those instead of ego ones...

Same, although I own quite a few (different models) Kayfuns and will keep them in reserves mainly for the same reasons you stated. By far the eGo ONE Tron-S, Tron-T and the new V2s tanks with the CLR coils (vs stock coils) are my favorite every day tanks followed the STM 3.5ml tank but only with the rebuildable coil vs stock coils.

Sooooo, how easy is it to recoil an EgoOne CLR?
Imagine the following scenario:

Guy just turned 69. Never rebuilt a coil in his life. One hand not working (too much weed pulling + carpal tunnel). IMRs and Cheech gang up on him, give him wire and encouragement. He's now into his second month of building good, working coils with five different wires, experimenting with wicking techniques, and having fun.

Short form: If I can do it, anyone can.

Shorter form: Easy! :D

CLR is a Pro Tank or Evod coil on steroids, it's a recoilers dream!
Especially after the GS Air Coils. :glare:
I looked up the STM, I had one and gave it away...hate those damn little screws!

You're speaking my language. For several days now I've been vaping on an eGo One Mega (4ml) with my DIY French Vanilla Creme and a GS Air 2 with my DIY strawberry, banana, mango. I have the Air 2 screwed on an eGo-T battery that I picked up at the local shop for $10. Lady said it would last about six months and I've found I like it with the Air 2 tank for carrying around in my pocket while doing yard work etc.
