oooooooooooooooooh, that's what ya meant

they are pretty close, I like the newer better (easier) but both capture wire same...
•the old rba; cap screwed on and it had a channel like kayfun (see red vertical line)
new RBA; cap press-fits on and held by a set screw - notice also channels gone and cap now has juice windows (see red square)

Thanks. Yeah, I have eGo One Mega, V2s and 2.5ml and love all of those. Was just intrigued hearing folks talk about liking the STM and was curious about the RBA. Your illustrations always do the trick.

I was watching a clr build vid yesterday, and saw something that I haven't seen mentioned before. The clr apparently has a juice flow control. It's the knurled ring at the bottom, it screws down. Maybe it has been noted before and I just missed it.

Is there a benefit to getting some ss wire? I don't do tc.
SS can be used in power mode too. I wasn't interested in TC either until @GranFumador got me rolling.
Now I love it.
Have you recoiled any of the CLR coils yet?

Yeah, I think the idea behind it was to enable recoilers to turn the ring up and down to control juice flow
to the coil by restricting the wick. I remove mine as it doesn't seem to make any difference at all to my
builds.

That's the beauty of the CLR!
It's a "Lather, rinse, repeat" kinda coil. You can get as deep into it as you wish.
Rewicking until the coil dies is great, then you can go with kanthal again and you're off and running.
OR, you can throw your hat over the wall and try SS. You'll always be able to get SS wire, as long as
you have a stock pile of coils, you're good to go!

This raises a question I've been pondering. Assuming normal use, wear and tear, what causes a coil to wear out?
    The world may never know...

I always figured they were like your toaster or oven, the element will last as long as you take care of it.
Most coils I ruined were from rough handling when I was removing the wick. Rinsing the wick in water
prior to pulling it out seems to make it easier to remove for me.

Cheech, you have no trouble with flooding when you remove that "juice flow control ring"?

Can you shove enough wick in there? What ID coil?

I will also vouch for my love of the STM. Bought all 5 of mine for under $20 each.

I also went a little crazy and bought 2 Merlins. I'm outta control.

When i use to use stainless mesh wicks in a genesis it was 32g a-1 kanthal the mesh wick would get gunked up and after numerous times unsrewing the ends and rewrapping after cleaning the mesh when pulling gently on the kanthal around screw it would snap, i just think that was the weak spot as the middle never broke that i recall and used genny for few years.
Now with 28g instead of 32 i presume it would be much more durable but im not high wattage vaper .

I actually started removing the juice control ring when I switched the cotton wicking for rayon
and kept the original OEM coil in. Flooding hasn't been an issue.
I use about a 2mm coil now. you can leave it on, the top of the ring sits about level with the
bottom of the slot. I've never heard of anyone using it to control the juice flow to their wick.

    I'm still rewicking the same 2 coils. I now have 2 mini's,1 1.8ml and 2 2ml,V2's.

SS is fine in wattage mode, tastes a lot cleaner than kanthal, and lasts much longer. Other than that, can't think of any reason to get it.
