The .5 ohm coil is too much air for me. I think I get better flavor out of the 1.0 CLR - pretty much perfect for me. 8 spaced wraps of 28 gauge SS316L on a 2.5mm mandrel comes out around .9 ohm - plenty enough vapor for me and good flavor.

YMMV, of course.

I just ordered 10 CLR coils 1.0 ohm. Now the wait for their arrival starts. I haven't even gotten my EGO one mega v2 yet. Tracking says on the way to destination country. I hope the coils that come with it aren't too bad which seems unlikely after reading about those here. I wish the free shipping was faster :glare:

Quick question before I place an order. Which resistance CLR coils do we like better? 0.5ohm or 1.0ohm? Currently I vape at 15-16 watts with a 1.5ohm coil in GS Air. However I want to go for higher air flow and wattage. Though not sure if air flow on 0.5ohm will be too high.

I like to say to get " BOTH "

just because then you can make (4) different coils by swaping the center pins

I definitely would have for the love of fiddling with stuff if they were cheaper. I know they are cheap but I have already spent more on vaping gear during the last month than I would have in a year on smoking. Maybe I'll forget it in a few weeks and place another order ;)

yepper, gotcha

all I can say is the only way to find out what is good for YOU , is to try it

I did not like the air-flow on the .5Ω at first, but then got used to it & now 1.0Ω is too restricted (go figure)

good luck
;)
Do you know the diameter of the pin on gs air 1.5 ohm coils? It would give me an idea how it is compared to that and I might be able to modify my order.

I can't really measure that accurately--no calipers--but by just eyeballing all three coils side by side I can say that the GS Air 1.5Ω coil pin size is similar to the eGo One CLR 1Ω coil (~1.5-1.8 mm or so?). The .5Ω CLR coil is twice as large at 3.5 mm. So, if you like the GS Air airflow, get the 1Ω CLR. If you'd like much more air, choose the .5Ω one.

Too bad they don't have an in-between size. I like a 2.2 mm airflow opening myself. I even wrote to Joyetech and asked them about it, but they said that they have no plans to introduce a new CLR size. *sigh*

You could always try this neat trick with .5Ω coils--if you happen to have some old Kanger bcc coils lying around.

those insulators from the kanger bcc coils slide right in (if ya have some)
just a guess, 2.2mm hole ?????
