There is another tank that takes the Ego One CL and CLR coils, the Wismec Amor Tank.
I've heard it's an offshoot or some such of the Joyetech company. It's seems pricier than the
Ego One tanks and is only 2.5 ml capacity.
Slow down please, Mr. yoye.:rolleyes::lol::lol:

Clicked on the "GS-Air Fan" link and for some reason it took me here. ;)

Well heya Cheech, IMR, PuffZeppelin, et al.

Just read all 13 pages and this tank/CLR coil system looks interesting.

Knowing me I'll be researching and probably purchasing some this weekend.

I spent a lot of time trying to decide on this system or not. Liked the looks of the CLR coil as I was getting tired
of the pain of recoiling the Air coils. Love these coils!

Re: Similarities and Differences
Subject: Early Experiences

Received first Ego One Mega VT tanks about 18 June, roughly 2 weeks ago.
On advice from our esteemed Prof. Cheech, pulled the cl coils and replaced with CLR
coils, a nominal 1.0 ohm kanthal and a ~0.4 ohm Ti temp. control coil.

Results to date include, in random order--

1) Original kanthal CLR coil still going strong. Has been rewicked with rayon three or four times. Closest comparison to GS- series is a brand new M with a 0.75 ohm coil.
The Ego One Mega/CLR runs rings around it for flavor and vapor production. While the trusty old 1.5 ohm GS-Air dual coils are durable, they would have degraded badly by now. Not the CLR, which has gone through at least 10 ml of juice, on average, for fourteen days.

2) The Ti temp control experience has been absolutely ethereal. Tried tc on an istick 40. Blah. Tried again on a Pico. Fair. Now using a Heatvape Invader Mini with the Ego One Mega and CLR Ti coil. Heavenly. Less re-wicking experience so far, so will hold off reporting until I have something useful to offer.

Overall, the Ego One Mega, with CLR coils, is simply a better combination than any of my formerly beloved GS- rigs, including the original Air, The M and Ms, and the Tank, using any of the available coils. Much more vapor. Much clearer and stronger flavor.
Better fit and finish for the tanks. Fewer leak and gurgle quirks, by far.

Pricing is similar, as is limited availability for the Mega VT. Ditto the Tron-s, which uses the same coils. The newer Ego One Mega V2, with more glass visible, rarely shows up other than with a mod. If you are not fussy about colors, you can find a VT or Tron-s for around $10.

Conclusion: R.I.P. and P.I.F., GS-Air family. It was nice while it lasted. On to something better and happier.

Thanks to Cheech and IMRs for generous help.

Am still searching/reading for using SS in TC. Have yet to find clear a clear answer as to what TC mode to use with a stainless steel coil - nickel or titanium. Some mod descriptions mention a stainless steel TC mode but their manual only mentions setting nickel or titanium modes. Posts also say that SS can be used in wattage mode but I am looking for info on using it in TC mode.

I have ordered some Ego One tanks and CLR coils to try.

The answer is out there but I have not found it yet.

The mod I'm using for tc doesn't specify Ti, Ni, SS or anything else. You set the desired temperature, than adjust wattage up or down to find your sweet spot.

Is this better or worse than having the mod software tell you what combination of temperature and wattage/voltage to use? I don't know.

the TC modes (Ni , Ti , SS , TCR) are JUST MULITPLIERS - - - (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance)

just put a coil (any coil Ni Ti SS) and start low work your way up

don't read too much into it... (overthinking)

if you have a mode to match your wire material, fine - if not just go low
if you think you can do better than the engineers that built the device (and your unit has it)
switch into TCR mode and adjust the multiplier to suit your needs

it is really that simple and seems SO MANY try and make a big deal of it
like it is rocket science...

the oldest vapor'er rule in the book - "start low, go up till you're happy"

now to go finish building my rocket
