I'd imagine ONCE you 'crack' it loose, it will function normally

I've had MANY of these darn Chinese parts just WAY TO TIGHT

I don't bother even tightening that 'set' screw when I build the Kanger rba - just a slight snug

be sure to have a GOOD phillips screw driver , then try the `ole " in the freezer " trick (15-20min)

So, first attempt with the STM last night was a fail. Leaked like a sieve from the AFC. First tank of any sort I've ever had leak. I was pretty sure I had under-wicked it, so this morning I went ahead and took the .5Ω coil out and rebuilt it at 1.1, put more wick in than I did the first time, and, so far, it's working very well and the flavor is good. By the way, it is by far the easiest coil to rebuild I've ever seen. Also really like the subox. All in all, I think this is going to be an excellent purchase at $29.95. They're closer to $50 most places. I think Sweet-Vapes is clearing them out and only has black left.

I still have an STM in my rotation. It's an older version with one set of air holes on one side. It rarely gives me any problems. I use mine with the RBA.
Currently I am trying to find an ego one 4.0ml from a vendor that doesn't use Bluecheck for age verifaction.

They've done a mysterious marketing job with these tanks. Very hit or miss as far as availability, even for the new version. FT still doesn't have them?

Mike when you talk'd of the SubTank mini I wanted to say to you how easy it is to build the Original (old square) OCC Kanger coils
I found that the older coils, if you can find them, with the square top cap can be found cheap (if ya look hard)

that 'kit' is the old version
only 50w / no TC / maybe not a spring loaded 510 pin ?

still would be good in my book...

Now that's my style of camping anymore.
Back when I first started using the STM's, i rebuilt a couple of those heads just to see if I could do it, turned out pretty easy. Another way to go if you run out of the RBA heads.

@pufZeppelin yeah, took some wire cutters and twisted/wrangled it until it came dislodged enough to get the cover off. So, you're saying the square coils can basically be used like the RBA? Nice.

yepper, they are about as easy to build as the CLR

only 'catch' is the square top is friction fit
at first try it is hard to remove (kinda)
but after a few times it becomes easy
you can use a cresent wrench[2] or 11mm wrench[2] to make it easyier

I don't bother to take mine off. I just make the legs a little longer, slide it in the coil body then stick a 3mm screwdriver through the holes to line up the coil.

Do you cut the wick off even with the sides and leave it, or do you stuff it back it a tad or does it matter?
