I don't know that they are genuine joyetech coils. I've bought clones before (once from a Canadian vendor and once on eBay) both sellers were upfront about them being clones, not genuine joyetech's. Both were packed in these black plastic trays with clear heat seal wrap. I was always working under the assumption that only the silver backed packages were genuine Joyetech's.

So then, the ones in the black plastic packages work okay? My experience with clones has not been good. :nah:

You can always check their authenticity code here:

How to use serial number to check authenticity of your products? - Joyetech

Oh yeah, thanks! I forgot about that.

Interesting results:

Package with silver foil backing is genuine. Silver scratch off strip on the box is smooth and easily removed with my fingernail.

Package with black plastic tray: inconclusive! The scratch off part is not like the other package, not smooth to remove, gunked off in clumps and left smears on the numbers that neither myself nor my daughter can remove. Can't read the numbers!

I guess I'll try these out and if I'm not happy with them I'll file a case with Fasttech. What worries me is I just ordered another package when I ordered my third tank and I'm wondering if I'll get these again.

I've had both foil and plastic wrapped eGo ONE coils... I've never bothered with authenticity codes on those, and all worked well.

FWIW, I've never had any problems with FT selling clones when they advertise an item as authentic. When they sell clones, they state so clearly and charge less, usually. I wouldn't worry about it, seriously.

Hey guys, what do you make of this? I bought both of these packages from Fasttech. The first package certainly looks genuine to me (silver foil backing). The second package sure looks like clones to me :( Ever see genuine Joyetech coils packed like this? I haven't.View attachment 633365

Have you run the security codes to see if the one is fake?

Yes exactly! That's why when I saw these packaged like this I was a bit surprised. As I say, when I've bought CL coils in black plastic trays both sellers stated upfront they were clones.

I guess ultimately it's not going to matter with these CLR's. The CL's in black plastic trays were the pits for wicking. Definitely not as good as genuine Joyetech CL's. With the CLR's I'll be pulling that wick out and putting rayon in before I use them so it shouldn't really matter.

I've had CLR coils come from Fasttech in both those packages. I'm vaping with those that came in the black ones right now, and all I can tell you is they seem to be legit. Can't tell any difference in the actual coil.

Truth is, I'm not as smart as you. Never noticed the packaging was different until you posted this. I went and checked, and sure nuf, I have both kinds.

Well if you've never specifically bought a package of clones before how would you know they come packed that way? If I hadn't bought from sellers who openly stated they were clones, I wouldn't have known myself.

Anyway, as I say, it shouldn't be a big deal as the wicking was the issue with the clone CL coils. If several of you have packages of CLR's in the black plastic trays and haven't experienced any problems, then I shouldn't either. :)

I would be interested what FT would have to say about this.

I don't know if I should complain or what! Seems to me if they are clones then they should be cheaper than the genuine thing. That's generally how FT operates. Maybe when they run out of the real deal they sub these in and hope people don't know or don't notice or don't care as long as they work as good as the genuine ones.

The real ones are cheap enough to buy, clones would be what? A buck and a half cheaper? I guess though that buck and a half would be extra profit in FT's coffers.
