It's preferred by people who are trying to avoid nickel. But I don't know that I'm necessarily afraid of a little nickel in my alloy. We all started with Nichrome wire and some are still using it. I probably wouldn't go 100% nickel, but, on the other hand, Evolv chose it as their preferred wire for dna 40 and I know that they did some studies wrt to its safety.

Considering that ss 316L is so much easier to work with and you don't have to bother with TCR settings, I'm going to go with ss 316L--FWIW.

I have used Nichrome wire and like it. Still not sure why it can only be used in power mode tho instead of TC but it has a much cleaner taste to me than Kanthal.

Not Fran, but its so simple.
Just remove the battery and any tank and plug into the usb port using a data transfer cable.(Most charger cables are now data cables also just be sure to use the one that came with the unit). Download the v 3xx for the first upgrade, save on computer(usually in download folder) and allow it to unzip the files. Then go into the download folder and click on the upgrade(the other file is a helper file). Once the screen comes up it should recognize the model (top line of the box) you are upgrading, and click. Only takes like 2 seconds.
Then if you want the v 4 download to download folder and unzip and repeat the above.



eta. May be a good idea as Pif said to upload first and then plug the unit in, altho I am not really sure if it matters that much, but give it a go.

Thanks, but when I tried, I got a strange message from my puter about .bit files and such and it scared the daylight out of me. And then I got a million popups screaming that I had a ZEUS virus and I was going to die unless I call them. So I'm in no mood to start again--for a while. I honestly don't know what I did wrong, but I did something very wrong.

I only got something that warned of an unknown certificate should it proceed anyway? I did and my machine always checks for virus' before downloading anything and did not detect any problems. The other file(helper files) that is downloaded is a .bin file.

There may indeed be more to this, but I thought I'd point you in the direction (last couple of current posts). Evidently, Dr. F said, 'They did not test any e-cig and e-cigs don't work in the way they performed the tests (reactor chamber)'.

Make sure the battery and tank are removed. Try unplugging and replugging in the usb. And that you have the folder open and its unzipped the files.

I had been looking at these for a while now. Finally ordered over the weekend.....I really like the fire panel bars instead of buttons as they are so much easier for older hands to operate. Btw, I got the gold one also.

I sure hope so. Your link doesn't work for me, but I trust you. Took me a while to get out of there. I have Malwarebytes Premium (paid subscription) and they've been good to me. I ran a scan and I'm clean.
