I'm excited for you. I LOVE my STM tank, especially the RBA. I think you'll love it. In my opinion, the STM and tanks that take CLR coils are the best

Wow. That's like 100 coils right?

Silly me thinking I'm set with 30 GS Air coils (rebuilt). Though I wouldn't mind having 20-30 more. I am planning on ordering about 6 GS Airs real soon. For backups to dead ones.

David-- I can't speak to your flavor question but I'll add. RE: silicone burn, None to date- not even a small brown spot - using 30ga 1.2 to 2.0 ohm coils. RE: leaking -- I think one needs to be sure the wick overfills the cut out slots. coil of 2.5 or larger I.D. and stuffed with rayon to the max. For insurance, sometimes I have a very small piece of cotton in the bottom of the airflow base to sponge any fluid that may get there. But this has become unnecessary as I learn. RE: airflow- you should have little problems shutting that down. I came from the P.Tank. Buy the tank and a coil pack for $20 you can not lose.
I did just that from Vapeshop - the last time I bought from them they were WOV :?: Thanks for the feedback, advice on the coil size, and other hints!
David Wolf -
SirWolf, I will say that for me, the flavor coming from the CLR is actually more noticeable and lush than the Nautis (tho I DO like them as well). The flavor from the KFL is amazing. I'd not be able to distinguish a profile between it and a CLR, as they ARE different (in ways unwordable for me). Both extremely good!

Leaks - The V2 - does it leak? Out the air hole, maybe as the juice gets low in the tank? I vape high PG, and saw at least one post talking about leaks here with higher PG. Maybe also with VG? If it does i will play with that collar to control juice flow the way I do with my KF Mini V3 clone, though this will be compressing the cotton wick so who knows how that will perform.

The ONLY and rare time I've had a bit of a weep from the CLRs is when I have not taken the time to rewick them. That tiny bit of moisture/weep is indicative of a wick change for me. Other than that? Not a HINT of seepage.

Draw - Does the airflow control allow a decently tight draw for those who like that in their MTL tank, like the Nautilus Mini, Triton Mini, or KF V1?

Yes, it does. The A/F control to me is adequate, and then some.

Want me to start a thread?
Thanks for your detailed reply Miss Katdarling! :) One thing that made me want to try them is it looks so easy to rewick those coils, and the cotton coming straight out the side through those wick holes reminds me a lot of my myjet pod wicks, and I love the flavor from those pods. Yeah, go ahead, start that worst coil awards thread, haha :D

here ya go, about the best price I know of...

- Joyetech eGo ONE Mega V2 Tank
- Joyetech CLR Coils (5 pack)

Done, thanks. Great prices, I got the stainless (silver-is it really stainless?) 2ml ego one V2, and a pack of the 1.0 ohm CLR coils. I ordered from them early this morning, and got a noticed they were shipped this afternoon! If I like them, I will order more coils from FT IF the other package I have finally arrives from China (they always do but good Lord the wait haha).
I get my coil packs from FT, it saves a bit. Of course you won't get them as fast, but I just throw in a pack or two when I order from them.
$7.70 Authentic Joyetech eGo ONE CLR Coil Head (5-Pack) - 1ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
One thing that had my interest in the CLR coils is the great prices in them from FT for the authentic coils. :D

My experience...
I had 1 Nautilus Mini and 2 regular Nauty's...
I then bought an eGo ONE Mega V2 Tank and a 5-pack of CLR's...
After trying them...I bought 2 more eGo ONE Mega V2 Tanks and more CLR's...
I used up all my Nauty coils...then threw my Nauty's out the window...
:2c:
..
Haha, well I will neeevaaah throw away my beloved Nauty Mini's, though they've been retired since my Triton Mini and Kabuki clone, and I've given one away. Nostalgic Collectors Items some day!

I have the authentic pico and clone pico-s and neither leak. The important things I think are the o-rings on the clr adapter top bit. The clone didn't have o-ring #1 when I got it so I added my own. It seals the clr coil (where the top bit has been removed). I also had to replace O-ring #2 as the one that came with the clone didn't stay in place. (The ones I used were 6mm inner diameter & 1.5mm thick - so 7.5 mm OD).

Excellent info, thanks @kates ! I just looked at the top CLR adapter and you were right, no o-ring inside. The bag of miscellaneous parts had an o-ring (a little thicker than the rest) that fit perfectly. I hope that takes care of the leaking. I did enjoy the vape on it, before it started filling the base with liquid, and running out of the air holes. I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

I wasn't interested in the conventional deck either. I got a few of the Pico-s tanks for the CLR abilities.

Thanks!

You may know all this already but in case you don't…
1) The FT GS Air tanks are built fairly well although the top seems to stick out a bit past the glass edge. The only issue I've found with them is that the AF ring is so loose than it doesn't stay put. A piece of tape will fix that or a bit of superglue will do the same.
2) you can buy 10 GS Air coils for $9.98…cheapest price I've ever found. I've been using them for almost a year and every now and then I hit a dud but for the most part they work pretty well. Save the used one in case you decide to recoil some day. I found it very easy.

Glad to help :) I only managed to work it out because I already had the authentic - which was my 4th vaperversary present and works perfectly - the clr adapter screws down to exactly the right position, all the o-rings fit perfectly and stay in place and the airflow ring also stays in place (whereas my clone needed another new o-ring to stop it spinning). BUT it cost a lot more/ is really difficult to find and the clone is nearly as good once all the little things are sorted. The o-ring are actually 6mm ID/ 1.5mm CS and so 9mm OD (not 7.5 as stated earlier )

Yes my airflow control ring will spin on my pico device but a little teflon tape in spots perhaps would stop that and not hurt o-ring as that tape has a smooth slippery surface.
On my Hcigar nano device which is main device it does not as tank screws down perfectly flush preventing any spinning.

Thanks for o-ring update will get a few o-ring spares in near future if it keeps non leaking , now on 2nd refill using the spare thick o-ring same as one used for the top portion under drip tip its working great not a leak as of yet, was able to vape tank very low before i got a slightly burnt hit then refilled, airflow was then re-opened and checked for leakage which was none.

There does seem to be at least a Minor Fiddle Factor with the Ego One that the Airs/GS's don't have. The Airs seem to work first time, every time. (I am not speaking of the fiddling like getting a Air coil shroud off...)

While I may move the AFC slide on the GS, I rarely even change the screw on the Airs.

I've even put some Air coil shrouds and bases together that were bent as hell and barely went back together and they still worked. I've never changed any o-ring in an Air itself or it's coils.

I probably Would grant that the part metal Ego One tank is more durable than the all glass of the Airs.

If only there was some cheap way to replace the worn out center post threads on the Airs... :(

Using 3 of these tanks for close to a year and now on two of them I have this very funny taste. I feel it's one of the orings or something which seems to be spoilt.

Having said that, it's time to change those two and I was wondering if any of you have any ideas on another tank that vapes about the same and is thrifty with juice. I need one which I carry to the office and usually the ego one mega lasts me the whole day. I don't mind another type of coil system as long as I can rewick or recoil them easily. Basically looking for a very restrictive lung hitter.
