Does anyone know if the CLR-TI coils have the same pin and head construction as regular CLR coils, or are they more open thus not as tight a draw?

  • the CLR Ti .5 has a gold plated larger 3.5mm air hole
  • the CLR Kanthal .5 has a silver plated 3.5mm air hole
  • the CLR Kanthal 1.0 has a silver plated 1.8mm air hole

so you can strip all three down TOTALLY, throw all parts in a box
then reach in and pull out ANY PARTS to build a CLR coil (all parts inner-change)

CLR-TI are the open "airy" version.

I'm not sure but I would think all .5 ohm coils, no matter the wire used, have the larger hole in the pin
Ok thanks. Still not a bad buy for MTL CLR parts (body and silicone sleeve) I guess if you use your existing CLR coil pins.

When I removed the stock coil a piece of the leg was suck to the side which is why I assumed it was welded....
I'm quite sure that was just sticky, not welded... did the wire break? Had the coil been used?

Yes, the wire broke. No, coil wasn't used as it wouldn't register on the mod or ohm meter, which is why I tore it out and was surprised at how much I had to tug to get it out. I'll do some surgery on another one from the same box to see if it happens again

between here and there
None of the CLRs are welded.

I got some of these coils also so its my first time using tc. I do know you can't dry burn these coils, but I noticed the pins at the bottom are gold(ish) in color. Should I assume that the pins have another sort of metal,(other than the reg ones) in order to be able to fire these?

No. The pins are gold plated to improve conductivity, but other pins will work.

simply YES
but going a bit deeper:
  • the CLR Ti .5 has a gold plated larger 3.5mm air hole
  • the CLR Kanthal .5 has a silver plated 3.5mm air hole
  • the CLR Kanthal 1.0 has a silver plated 1.8mm air hole

Great graphic, thanks. The larger air holes wouldn't work for me, I prefer a tighter draw for my MTL. :)

This is WAY OVER the number of Watts I'd ever use...(for a person that has never gone over 20Watts)...

(I know...just because it has 120Watts doesn't mean I have to use 120Watts.)

But...we're only talkin' $19...

Kangertech KBOX 120 TC Box Mod (US Vendor) $19.00

They currently have 2 colorways in stock: black and red. Shipping is FREE on US orders over $49.

It's a decent enough box. Gots me one. The finish is questionable, though...

Well Shawn...I've never been able to upset myself over my Mods' chipped/scratched/dinged/worn finishes...

When they're sitting there...next to my laptop/couch...I don't really look at them...

And...when I'm actually vaping with them...I don't really look at them...

[But...as "they" say...YMMV...]

I'm afraid I get a bit wound when I see dings and nicks. This one, however, ince a chip started, I was able to remove all the paint with my thumbnail...
