Interesting as that coil they picture looks similar to joyetech CL coil head except the bottom pin on it looks somewhat different.
You can always email them and ask i suppose thats if they even know.
The bottom link you posted just shows the device and not the coil.
if you scroll down, it shows a pic of the coil. Anyway, it looks like they (both those devices) take the same coil...

So you

You left airflow open as you filled it thru the newly drilled hole in top ?
Wouldn't matter in the end. Even if he had closed the airflow before filling, I think it would have dumped the liquid as soon as the airflow was cracked open - if not before. You need the vacuum in the tank to hold the eliquid in.

Well, it's pretty much standard procedure with top fill tanks to close the airflow. I'm sure it helps to avoid a massive spill but have my doubts about it preventing all leakage.
Like I mentioned earlier I'm not even interested in topfill. I just saw someone mention doing something neat sounding that involved a tool and a tank and went for it. Without even thinking it through.

Unless the airflow in the closed position is airtight, closing it when refilling will do nothing. The AF in closed position is not airtight in any tanks I own - I know this because if I inhale on the drip tip I can still hear air getting in which I can stop by covering the AF opening completely with my finger.

Personal experience -
Out of curiosity i just closed the airflow on 3 filled megav2 tanks sitting at desk and pulled on them and easily got air thru drip tip. I do noticed when i unscrew the bottom to refill those tank the airflow closes itself but opens itself upon putting cap back on by design of threads.

My pico-s (topfill) i can barely get any air when airflow closed.
The pico-s as mentioned in thread when first purchased them i filled the first one with airflow open not knowing any better and it instantly drained tank.
Then learned quickly to close airflow when filling then screwing top cap back on snug and opening airflow
without leaks.

Iv'e also learned that the bases of both tanks will get e-liquid in them and enough "eventually" to leak out the airflow if tipped sideways .
To solve that i have small hypo needle to suck it out by tilting tank to one side and inserting needle there which for me is easier than unscrewing the coil head as hands are not young anymore. ' )

This a happened to me a couple times. I lay the base down on a hard surface with 510 threads up. Take a 7/16" socket and put it over the 510 connection and give a firm rap. Works wonders.

Thanks as i had one of my megav2's leaking around seam where base screws on even put new clr to test and still would leak a little not a lot but still.
I reall with knocking over my Hcigar nano on desk several times prior so i used a 1/2 socket over the 510 threads on garage floor lightly tapping so far no leakage.
In past i tried the plier trick but like the socket method much better as it is evenly distributed around the base portion when tapping it.

This is way more mod than I'll ever need but if anyone's interested you can get an iStick 200w for $9.90 this weekend. o_O

Eleaf iStick 200W Box Mod
That is an INSANE bargain. I thought getting mine at $23 was a bargain. The white looks so classy in this and what i recommend. However be aware the 510 only sits joyetech/eleaf tanks flush.. anything with a slightly longer pin will have a gap, and sometimes very noticeable too. In other words, it's the usual eleaf/JT/Wismec "pre new gen" crappy 510. But it works for all my pre built coil tanks, aspire/eleafs/joyetechs/elf/nicolas - sense blazer nano pin is WAY too long and looks like it sits a cm above the base LOL so definitely not the best look, but aspires and stuff look fine. The joyetech ornate black looks fantastic on it. Also, battery life is GREAT.. I tested it with samsung 25R's, at 151 watts on the ornate, and i dedicated that test weekend entirely to DL high wattage vaping, and the runtime and battery usage was terrific (and even). Also you can see indi batt voltage when device is off with minus and fire button held, plus button and fire does TCRs, 20 clicks firmware (there is a fw update on the site), do logos etc.. basically like every other JT/Eleaf/Wismec device, but with eleaf's typical smaller screen. Also, the TC works fine out of the box for my needs. At 9.99 i will get 2 more in the other colours, you can never have enough beater high battery mods IMO!

Dieseler- "evenly distributed around the base portion" YUP. When made it was certainly pressed together
so not only does it put even pressure around the entire base it doesn't mare the finish. Just don't pound such that the bases threads are alerted. A HARD wood surface would be perfect.

The evic mod I got from Healthcabin is great and works great with the new firmware from Joyetech. But I can't say that I am overly impressed with the quality control on the Mega One Tank. I had only used the mod and hadn't even taken the tank out of the packaging. I did take it out today as I decided to test it out. Well black paint came off all over my fingers and was like powder. one quarter to one half of the tank is now SS and the rest Black. Sorry picture is not the best, Anyone know how to get the rest of the black paint off without ruining it?

Some thing went wrong in the finish process. May not had been cleaned properly. I would try steel wool - it comes in various grades of grit. Start with 000 or finer. Plug the air vents with tissue first.

A fresh green Scots-bite might take if off as well----

Just got my Wismec Armor tanks. Yeah, I like the looks. They come with CL coils, but I can use the pins, pin grommet and o-rings for spares.

I'll get around to trying them eventually. Bought them as spares, really, and have no current need for them.

yes, a pretty cool tank - like an eGo ONE with a nice shirt on :D
compact, squared off with a frosted look gives it a touch of sophistication...
I've been using one on my ePetite for that classy 'up-town' look  (wooden drip tip)

bonus tip: if you grab the two metal ends on the tank itself, they will unscrew (releasing the glass)

wow, bummer... :(

I have so many of them and for $13 bucks I have not gotten around to opening mine yet...
guess I will have to get to it and see if mine are faulty... o_O

I actually prefer stainless tank for looks anyway and stainless works with any color mod without clashing. So if I can get the rest of the paint off I will be happy. All painted tanks eventually end up with scratched paint anyway.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I tried rubbing alcohol and it didn't do anything, but I expected that. Maybe nail polish remover?

Wow. Sorry that happened to you. That's why I opt for stainless tanks whenever I can. Any other coating will come off eventually. I have a gold Tron-S that has some chips in it - the matching Evic Mini too for that matter.

You could try "Citristrip" - think I got it from Home Depot. Not really recommending it 'cuz I've never used it for this particular purpose, but I have used it to strip paint off of wood and it's supposed to be safer than regular paint strippers. Takes longer, tho.
