I have used 3 out of the 4 ways so I will take a shot at your question with what I know....

I got my eGo tank about a month and a half ago, and after a week or so transition time I stopped smoking and uesd the eGo exclusivly.

there are 4 basic ways to use a eGo

Atomizer and Cartridge ( standard eGo )
Tank Atomizer and Tank ( eGo-T )
Cartomizers
Dripping

The tank requires a different kind of atomizer, which will not work with cartridges or for dripping ( unless you alter the atomizer which I have done once )

The Atomizer and cartridges come in type A and type B, the type B's are huge ( cylinder atomizer ) and so are the cartridges ( this is what I am using now )

Type A are cone shaped ( you need a cone to go over the atomizer ) and are basically standard 510 atomizers

For dripping you can really use almost any atomizer ( except the tank unless you modify it )

Cartomizers ( which I have not tried yet ) are a cartridge and atomizer in a single unit.

The great thing about the eGo is that these individual parts are not very expensive, so you can try a lot of different things with an eGo kit without spending a lot of money.

My current recommendation is for a standard eGo ( or Riva, an eGo knockoff at Liberty Flights that is less expensive and fits all eGo parts ) I started with the tank, but they are a bit fiddily and so I am actually recommending the standard eGo.

However my wife still prefers the tank, and the tank did indeed get me off of cigarettes so I am not going to put the tank down.

Don’t worry too much about getting the wrong system, ( tank or not tank ) cause if it very easy to try different things. But you cannot use cartridges with a tank atomizer and you cant use tanks in anything but a tank atomizer. That is the bad news, the good news is that a different kind of atomizer can be had for like $10 and a pack of cartridges are really cheap, Cartomizers can be had for 5 of them for like $16 so you aren’t spending a lot to try different things.

between here and there
Welcome to ecf.
I use the tank system. You will need an eGo battery. They have 650, 900 and 1000mah. The different numbers indicate the length of time between charges. ie. If you want it to last all day between charges then a 900 or 1000 works great. In using the tank system you will need to purchase the eGo -T atomizer and the tank that you fill with juice. The end of the tank pops off and you just drip your ejuice into it. Couldn't be simplier.
Glad you found us.

Oh Tanks are NOT difficult to fill, just occasionally fiddly as far as keeping the atomizer working right ( my experience, others mileage may vary )

As Sugar and Spice said , you can pop the cap off the tank and fill it, you don’t need a syringe or anything. My wife prefers the tank and I keep hers operating very well.

Nothing wrong with the tank at all, I just got spoiled with a LR cylinder atomizer and mega cartridge and am really enjoying that.

I'm currently using the B type (cylinder) tanks and so far they are doing good. First tank lasted 4 hours - a bit fuller flavor and vapor than the A type (cone style) tanks and no leaks or no burnt taste. Same length as a regular or A type eGo but the cylinder is not tapered. For anyone with an eGo it's at least worth a try just for the possibility that it will work for you - 6 hours without charging and 4 hours without refilling.... ymmv. Suggest going Joye - cignot, heaven gifts... not an 'ego-type' and actual eGo (or Tornado at TW which is a Joye as well).

Since purchasing the LR T-atty I've went back to using my eGo tank more. I also buy the aftermarket clear and blue tanks and remove the bridge inside the tank (pop mouthpiece off and you'll see the piece to remove then replace the mouthpiece) Produces excellent vapor and taste this way. My wife loves the regular eGo-T but with all my HV mods I guess I'm a bit more spoiled :) anyway you can't go wrong with any eGo as you can customize it for almost any configuration to fit your needs. Probably the best battery out there for it's cost and ease of use.

Some people love the tanks, some dont.

the trick is to find what you like... and do that! :)

No the trick is to have the self-discipline to stop when you find something you like and not go trying every new gadget that comes along.

Anyone know a site where I can get some self-discipline???? :)

ROFL!

For years I have been telling people that I have lots of WILL POWER!

I will have a cigarette, I will eat another piece of pizza, I will have another drink.

What I lack... is WONT POWER!
