Hey folks,

I bought a pair of riva's a few months back and pretty quickly the housing on the part that you screw the battery into started breaking. I was still getting a charge (most of the time) but then the red light stopped turning on. I emailed the seller and they said to disregard the light since it often isn't a good indicator. However when I'd screw a dead battery in, and the light stayed green, half the time it wouldn't charge. I'd leave the house and 20 minutes later: dead battery.

So I bought a new charger, same type, from a different site and it worked for awhile, but now it's doing the same thing. Are there any chargers for these models that won't crap out on me in a matter of days/weeks?

Any help is appreciated.

Much thanks,
-Derik

I have a Mains charger from Totally Wicked. Just make sure to get the little extensions they have. Mine works great.

I think that's what I'm looking for, what do you mean by little extensions though? Would that be the adapters?

Just use rubbing alcohol then. Take a paperclip & scrape out the groove at the bottom of the battery contact.

IMO...the chargers are all kinda flimsy.

In the meantime, I tried this out. I didn't even realize how much build up there was on the threads. Thanks! I got the LED to flicker orange/red, which is an improvement ha.

I've had my mains charger from TW for about 9-10 months. Use it constantly and it's still working perfectly. Cleaning the battery contacts and the charger contact when you notice black oxidation is key - otherwise you get a bad charge. Janty USA sells the mains charger as well.

I found that the quick USB charger did not give a solid charge - batteries lasted about half the normal amount of time.
