Hey folks, I have recently started using the ego stardust clearos and am contsantly having issues with a burnt taste, i can hit it a few times, and then get the taste, let it sit for awhile and bam, burnt taste again, I am using just a basic 3.7v ego riva or something like that, and have tried another battery also, with the same issue. I have tried 3 different stardusts, and get the same issue. Now i do realize this is a wicked unit, so i am constantly tilting it to make sure the wicks are soaked in juice and not buring dry.

Does anyone else have this issue? Any tips or advice would be awesome!

I just got a new ego c twist and 3 new stardust 2.0's to go with it, are the 2.0's improved to avoid this issue? I havent tried the new unit or clearos yet, but am hoping to get some answers before i do!

Please help!

Thanks!

I, myself, just picked up a stardust to try out. Are you using the stardust version 2? Is it a vision? (Marked with a "V" on the base)

Either way, they have a long break in period from what I've read. I've ran a full fill on it and the flavour is coming in much better now. Also, if you weren't aware, dry burning the stardust is known to help the break in period on the device. When you first get your stardust (v2) remove the mouthpiece, tank, and the rubber seal so that the coil is exposed. Hook it up to your battery and give it 2 or 3, 5 second bursts until the coil is glowing. This has helped me significantly.

Hey NoobPatrol, because of the lower voltage and longer hauls the wick may
not be keeping up. Sort of obvious, I guess, that the wick isn't keeping up.

SR Stardusts 2.8-3.0 ohm work better for me than the LR ones on both a 3.7v and
VV set-up.

If you continue to have the trouble with the v2's you may first want to take out the wimpier
2.4 ohm head that they come with and put in one with a higher resistance(2.8-3.0 ohm)

I've also added a short piece of extra wick just slid down the grooves, to sit on top
of the original coil/wick in the V2's. Making the added wick 1/4 inch or so longer
than the short wick set-up I'm currently using. It can still give a little off taste
sometimes, especially if I'm hitting it hard and not resting a little between hits.

It could be too, that it's time to do a clean and dryburn to get any gunk that may
have built up on the coil off. Depending on the juice you are using you may want to do it every day or two.

Also using a mixture at least 50/50 PG/VG is best. 80 PG 20 VG is even better, in my experience.

I've had no problems topping up above the wick as long as the tip gets screwed down properly.
And never run below 1/2 before topping up. Don't be afraid to dump the crappy juice(1/2mil)
out once in a while to help keep the unit clean.

These are some of the things that work for me.YMMV.

Hope your experience with these improves.

Cheers.:vapor:

Sounds like you got a bum stardust  I have used the various incarnations of the stardust since their inception, and I have had nothing but positive results!? I agree the earliest ones cracked, but aside from that, the vape was always quite nice.

I just tried a "firebird", and it was terrible, IMHO. Different strokes .....:)

Agree with Farmer_Bric, I have been using several versions of the Stardusts from Visions and I don't recall having the problem you are reporting.
Are you sure you have an original Vision product or are you using a product from another manufacturer that is marketing/selling them as the Stardust?

We need more info, what is the SD resistance & your juice ratio (and if it matters any nic content).
You mention version 2 SD .... Who is your supplier and if you could provide web links, this will give us a better idea of what you are using. Doing so may allow us to provide recommendations ...

... Anyways HitMeTwice has it covered.

I haven't been vaping long but ive tried a couple of different cartos and the v2 Vision and the vision is by far superior. i find the cartos have a "dulled" taste.
It's interesting that you say that because I noticed the opposite. My stardust is excellent however I find the flavour is mildly muffled. Granted, I'm used to dripping and I find that to produce the best results :p
