Well I got my stardust 7 days ago. On the 6th day, the vapor and throat hit was not the same, and there was hardly any taste. I think I over cleaned it....I must have put 5 different eliquids in it, and dry burned it twice a day. I did the shake, and flick thing....then dry burned. I just ordered 4 more, and think I will keep only 1 juice in it, and after 5 refills, I'll just rinse it and let it air dry. When I took the wick out, I was suprised how much crud was built up on it. I was careful to do the 5 second on, off thing. i don't know how some people say they have it last from 2 weeks to a month. I must have over did it with the dry burning. Here is a pic after 7 days

Yea, I m going to keep the vision, and get some wick and coil, and use this old vision to test it out on. I saw some videos where you take apart the whole thing, but I think if you have enough time to deal with it, you can just use a small clamp, something with fine ends, and just put a new wick with the coil in the slot, from above where the tip is....then just pop the rubber cap back on.

I just retired an eGo Vision that lasted 4 weeks. About 3 1/2 weeks in it started to run dry (unusual) and I found it to be that the silicone cover had gotten pushed down too far from over-tightening the mouthpiece. The wicks were mostly uncovered, but the little bit that was covered made all the difference. A tug on the cover/center post to pull it up just a tiny bit, and it was working fine again. Now I only tighten the mouthpiece slightly after it hits the inner top silicone seal. Even though it can screw in farther, it doesn't leak there, I guess because it has that extra sealing ring in the neck.

I suppose I'll never know if it would have gone longer than 4 weeks, or if the little bit of running dry hastened it's death.

I never dry-burned it, used about 6 or 7 different juices in it as well.

yeah, I think taking the wick out would be much easier then putting it back in without taking the whole thing apart. I ll try not dry burning it, and just wash it out with water every 5 refills, and just let it dry over night. I thought about not screwing the cap all the way down, but was afraid it may leak....but i ll test it out tomorrow and see what happens when i just tighten it a little.

I have had no problems with tightening the cap down myself. I normally rinse them with each juice change, let them dry and do a quick 3 sec dry burn before re-filling it. My 3rd one (the second was unwilling to come apart...hmlessalky SMASH!) is still going strong with the original wick. I have been using it with lighter fluids and less often, but it is approaching 3 weeks. BTW, I use a wooden dowel rod section and a vise to press the center out. Worked good on 1 and 3 (2....notsomuchso) and doesn't hurt the center shaft.

I received 5 of the CE4+ around the 20th of march and 4 of them are doing well. I popped one on an L Rider but as soon as I get some wick material I will rebuild it. I agree with hmlessalky
Good luck trying to re-wick it assembled.
The first time is the only time you will have to work hard to get it apart. I suggest leaving the drip tip on when you remove the top metal ring, it keeps the metal from deforming. Anyone dry burning them should be taking off the top metal ring and then pulling out the silicone cap covering the wick so you don't melt it when you do a dry burn. I have dry burned some of mine twice and I do it 10 to 15 times(until I don't get anymore smoke coming from the coil and the coil is totally cherry red) for as long as my passthru goes until it starts blinking and I do it on the highest voltage(I think 4.2 volts). If you pop it for whatever reason you only need to rewrap the wick with wire cause that is what will fail. I am not sure you can tighten them too much. The metal tip inside the silicone cap has a rim that sits on top of the center tube.

Alot of guys have luck with the dry-burning I never have. Just doesn't make sense to me to dry burn something that degrades with heat? I prefer the grain alcohol soak and flush then prime up with pure pg ( or ur fave eliquid ) I prime the entire assembly, wicks, coil and all. Then do a prime burn off but not dry this pulls liquid back to the coil. Should have no problems with this method. I do not prefer the water flush as it can cause the coil and wick to boil producing a lazy flavor for some reason. Good luck with 4 new ones! May want to make sure with VV or higher voltage jumping to the higher resistance cores as well

I just got some of these and was wondering. It seems if I don't manual wet the wick by tilting it from side to side once in a while, it does not stay moist. Is this how it's supposed to work? Seems to be more of an issue if it's under half full.
Thanks!

I generally tilt mine on a continual basis. They have however, come out with a Version 2 that has longer wicks now.

Mine are lasting really well but I do not dry burn them at all. I soak them in grain alcohol, blow out the excess water, and air dry. That's it.

Cool! I thought the "dryburn" process was imperative to get the dried crud out. I don't have grain alcohol. Is that the trick? Soaking in vodka or isopropyl won'd get the crud but grain alcohol does?

With a 50/50 juice I'll always fill to the top of the wick, never an issue.
Never run below half way and when the last 1/2 mil is dark I pitch it out and clean it.
By cleaning and doing a dry burn every day or two keeps them clean for me and I get a good
life outta them. I take my time dry burning allowing the coil to cool sufficiently in between
burns gradually increasing the voltage as I go. Once the gunk is burnt off I'll allow more
cooling time before refilling. A few power on short primer puffs and it's up and running better
than when it was new.(normally):2c:
