I've been reading a bit about tank cartomizers and I have a few questions. Everyone has been so helpful so far I hate to ask more stupid questions.

Is the cartomizer in a tank replaceable or do you discard the entire tank when the cartomizer goes bad?
If it is replaceable do you have to use a specific type for the specific tank?

Is there any difference in TH and vapor production? (I'm using the tank that came with the starter kit still)

Do they leak like the tank system does?

I've read a little bit but I'm getting more confused the more information I find. I read somewhere that you had to "mod" your cartomizer to make them work properly. Is that with every model or was that a specific model he was referring to?

Thanks in advance if you can help me find a new tank. I love my ego batteries. I know that the ego battery is only 3.7v and that dual coils need 5v but I really want to stick with this type of battery as long as possible.

I've tried cartomizers on our eGOs over the past three days, pitched mine in the trash, and am happily back on the 1.1ml tank. This is not a "bash" anything post....I'm sure there's a carto out there with my name on it and I've placed an order for 2.0 and 3.0 Boges. It's just that the ones I have (supposed to be Boge LR 2.0) deliver a super-hot vapor with diminished taste compared to my tank systems. I did an exhaustive search of Boge LR 2.0 cartos and haven't seen a pic yet that looks like what I have....appears to be a Smoketech LR 2.0, Resurrector, or something other than Boge. Pic below and perhaps someone can positively ID it for me.

As for the convenience factor, I'm not in the least inconvenienced with tank usage....I carry a couple of loaded spares. I have absolutely no leakage or flooding, and I get boot to the throat hits, big clouds and super taste. Relatively higher maintenance but no problem for me. Here's the carto pic and thanks in advance for any help for the both of us:

Oh, yeah....the wrapper is blue tinted, the carto is clear with silver connector and white soft cap.

Catalyst - there seems to be a disconnect between your title and question text. The ego-T tank/atomizer system is different than the tanks with replaceable cartomizers. Many tank systems use replaceable cartomizers that require a hole punched (or slot cut) to allow liquid to enter at the bottom of the cart (just pick a cartomizer that is the right length for your tank) - many vendors now offer them pre-punched. Some people have replaced the default dual-coil cartomizer with a single coil cartomizer to better meet their needs (to get a cooler vapor or longer battery life with higher resistance). Some tanks leak as much or more than the ego-T system (both my DCT and StoneV2 leak and gurgle), some don't (my stardusts and Saphires haven't leaked at all). Some tanks mute the flavor and lessen TH (my 510-t, ego-t, and saphires). Some tanks are hard to fill (Fluxomizers require a syringe). ETC.
