What happens is that the liquid puts pressure down on the wick inside the center spike or "needle" which pushes it down. This causes it to leak in the way you described. The solution is to take it apart and raise the wick inside the needle. I can't do it, as it's way too small and delicate and I keep destroying them so I send them away for maintenance. You can also raise the wick if you have one that is harsh or burnt tasting because of liquid not getting to the atty coil.

Here are some videos describing how it's done as well as links to tools used: YouTube - ‪eGo-t wick adjustment‬‏

YouTube - ‪How I clean my eGo-t atty... or... Sunday morning at Vicky's kitchen sink‬‏

Tools: 3-1/2" Locking Clamp

3-3/4" Magnifying Glass Tweezers

Hope that helps some.

Siouxsie, Thank you for your input. they are of great help. :)

It's all Vicki at Cignot, she did the videos, figured out how to do all that stuff and told me what tools to use and where to get them. I just put it down here so pain... could see it all in one place. Also she said that place sells dental picks, the stuff the dentists put in your mouth to clean your teeth etc. I assume they are useful to clean the coil and also maybe to help wrench the needle plate out.

When my ego-t b tanks got down to about 1/4 full they leaked all over the place and eventually down through atty to battery. Possible suggestion, try refilling tank before it gets to low. I got my type b tanks and atties from Cignot. They leaked immediately, was told it was wick issue. Those atties and tanks are expensive and didn't pay that money to immediately start doing wick maintenance.

It happens to me too. That's why I will be buying no more tanks until they get it worked out. However, if we don't do maintenance, they become disposable at that point and after not very long. So it's either do the maintenance on the ones that are causing problems or throw them out. Or yank the needle plates and use them for dripping.

Im having this same problem. At first I was happy with the ego t-tank but Im gradually less impressed. Im going to switch to my smoktech dual coil cartos tonight when I get home and see if I like those better.

I'm just using my first one and I don't know yet how much they affect eGo battery life, but I really like it so far. I don't feel bad saying that since HC sells them...lol. They don't need high voltage mods, just the more amperage, the better.

I am loving my ego t. I have type b and had it for about 3 weeks now. I had a joye 510 but had to top it off every time I would vape on it it seemed. I do have leaks on mine but it is pretty simple to avoid. I just rotate it slowly to upside down. As I go I watch the liquid and if the liquid fills the bottom of the tank before it is upright, I am good to go. If I am holding it almost vertical upside down and can see a bubble it is time to top off. I have not had any leaks since I figured this out. Also they say to not fill it up all the way but I do. Never had any dry hits from this, just make sure I give a dry hit and check for the bubble coming up and I know I am good.

Good to know but it's still not right that you can only use half the capacity of a tank before topping off. And if you want to switch flavors, you end up syringing the remaining juice back out and back into the bottle it goes. Another thing that helps is trying not to put the whole setup any more past 10 degrees from the horizontal, it helps minimize the leaking when the tank is less than full. And I DO get dry hits if I fill them all the way to the top. The cause of all this? I suspect it's the surface tension of any liquid and the vacuum created when it's too full or lack of same when it's not full enough. So it's not the perfect thing, despite all the reviews when it came out, the longer you use something the more the flaws become glaring. And I'm not singling Joye out, I've yet to find the perfect liquid delivery system. I doubt it will be coming from China as they seem to just put stuff out and the customers get to be the beta testers (shout out to matty on that one.)

Right, keep it to that level and you're good. It is not 100% perfect because there is still some fluid in it but it is less than 1/4 tank i would say and it is not hard to do or a pain. As for other flavors, it came with 5 tanks so I use tank per flavor. The radon I don't get dry hits when topping off may be because I am not using a syringe, just popping the top off and using my bottle to fill it all the way up. With a syringe I am suspecting you really get it 100% full and that creates the suction. Either way I like it much more than the 510.

the problem with ego-t type b is simple. the hole on the type b cart is too big for the needle like funnel on the type b atty. that causes the overflowing.

I don't agree. I've seen type b's with small needle and type b's with a little larger needle. It happens to both. You do have fewer dry hits on the larger needle types.
