i do buy my VN tank there

This is what the 510 adapter looks like. No guarantees it will work as the threads on the Vivi may also be stripped.

Yes, you have to use metal, like tin foil, regular tape may stop the flow of electricity.

Tin foil.. Work great well much better then white tape..

Can I veer slightly off topic but still on topic of vivi plus ego? I got a mini vision vivi tank but it looks ridiculous on the ego twist battery. Are the shorty cones the only thing you can get? They'd cover the threading but they aren't really wide enough to make the vivi tank look good on the twist.

Maybe I got the regular vivi tank, not the mini, lol, it's not a slim, I'm sure of that, but also sort of too lazy to get up and look at it. It's definitely way too wide.

Yep, you have the larger tank. The 'mini' looks perfect sitting on top of an Ego battery

The slim should be the same diameter as the eGo battery. So if it's too wide, I'd say it's the regular sized.

There are various styles of the “beauty cones” for eGo batteries, including ones that widen up to reach the diameter of a regular-sized ViVi Nova. You should find some if you look around.

Edit: And as it turns out, there is already a topic about this exact issue here on ECF: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/healthcabin/341574-viva-nova-ego-twist-adaptor.html. So check out the sleeves recommended there.

No cuz it's a 510 batt to eGo connector
....there is no eGo thread on the Vivi tank. As far as I know there is no eGo battery to 510 connector. Here's a 510 to 510 connector.
