Hi All! I'm brand spankin' new here and am thrilled to have found this forum! I was a smoker for *gulp* 25 years and up until October 2010, I had no clue about e-cigs!! At least not ones with nicotine (being in Canada)! A casual friend introduced it to me and I was immediately sold! I had been gearing up to quit (again) for quite some time so as soon as I knew these things existed I was inspired. I didn't do much research but simply bought the same one my friend had -- the Ego-T. I have been using it for 7 weeks (and haven't had a cigarette or even a craving since!) and really have no issues with its performance (so far). I used to smoke about 15 cigs a day, and find that one cartridge of liquid generally lasts me for the day -- but closer to 2 cartridges if I'm drinking.

My question is: Now that the Ego-C is available, is it an indication that there is a design flaw with the Ego-T? Should I expect that the Ego-T will crap out at some point? And if so...any ideas how long they generally last? I'm panicked at the idea of not having it working.

I have 2 Ego-T units, but am thinking of buying 2 more as back ups. Maybe I should buy 2 Ego-C units instead??

Thanks in advance for any info. I am overwhelmed (but thankful) for all of the info on here!

i used the Ego -t thought it was ok as it was my second stage in vaping , they worked but leaked bad when the liquid got to warm in my pocket during summer . i learned to use the 3 ego batteries i had to work with cartomizers instead . and now still using ego batteries with my Smoktech 3ml tank wich is the best ive used so far . moral of the story is . ego batteries are great for beginers , the tank and atomizers are a pain, while they will do the job , you are missing out on flavor and they also leak .so be prepared .

Your batteries are fine - the EGo-C batteries are no better as far as I know. If you are curious about Ego-C I think you can just buy Ego-C atomizers with Ego-C tanks and try them on your current batteries. But double-check that with somebody who actually uses Ego-C or (I don't even use atomizers except to test new juices - I use cartomizers which are what most switch to for everyday vaping).

Here for the curious yes you can use the ego-c atty with come on the regular ego battery.
That is how my wife switched over from the ego- t.

She bought the cone and 5 - atty pack from Ovali when they first released them here in states.
Yesterday she mentioned she was putting in a new atty as the very first original one she has been useing is not working well and the draw was no good.
Gee i thought she has been using that atty for a good while.

I said don't throw it out let me take it apart after all when i was vaping with the ego tank i used to clean the older style atty's but have since moved onto other pv's.

It is easier than cleaning the old ones i found out . With the old ones i had to dig down into the cone with a screwdriver and pop the spike assembly out
With the new one its not like that.

All i did was hold atty in hand with very small flathead screwdriver i popped off the spike assembly then ran coil under very hot water for a minute or so holding it with a pair of small pliers.
It was really gunked up good.

I blew out any remaining water and dry burned the coil itself until i saw that the "whole coil" not just part of it was fireing nice and red each time i fired it .
I then took spike assembly held it with the same pilers under real hot water then gently dabbed it with tissue .
Took a bic lighter and used the lower part of the falme which is blue not the upper yellow part and got that darken wick to glow white again.
My lesson learned from burning the wicks in past when i fiddled with the old ego's if i use the upper yellow flame it blackens the wick instead.

I them simply lined up spike plate over the coil and took flat part of scrrewdriver and pressed it back in.
It was real easy to do.

I said "here hun try it"
Worked like a charm - time will tell how much longer it actually lasts.

I like to add i did notice the coil wires seem to be a hair thicker than before , the whole assembly is smaller than before as well.

Sorry for the long detailed post but all in all this whole process took about 10 minutes, next time i do it maybe it will be slightly less.

Do yourself a favor and just get some cartos instead.
Personally I think the eGo tanks are awful. They can be very finicky and leak. The eGo-C tanks are better than the Older T-tanks, but really that's not saying much bc the older eGo tanks are awful. The eGo-C tanks still have leaking issues and can be just as finicky. They were supposed to fix all the problems the T-tanks have, but frankly their just as bad and still have all the same problems. They were a cool concept, since there was nothing like that when they first came out, but they are poorly executed, and now we have carto tanks which are hands down leaps and bounds better than the eGo tanks will ever be. Even when the eGo tanks are "working right", they still dull flavor and TH. Try using a good carto and your juices will taste way better than they ever could in an eGo tank.
The tanks don't hold alOt of juice either so they dont even have the benefit of being able to refill less. There are regular cartos you can use, like the Ressurectors, that hold almost twice as much juice as an eGo tanks, and that not even with a carto tank.
You can get a small carto tank, like the Smoktech 3.5ml tank, that looks nice on eGo/kGo/Epower/riva sized PVs, and hold 3-4 times as much juice then an eGo-C can. I use an Epower with a Smoktech 3.5ml tank with a Ressurector in it and I can go all day without needing to refill it, yet it's still small enough to easily fit in my pocket.

Just cleaned my eGo-C with the method you described. I have to say, it worked wonders on my atty. Thought I was going to have to throw it away but its all good to go now!

WHere can I get cartomizers for the Ego-T in the US?

Draft, etc if you are looking for cartomizers you want to find ANY 510 threaded carto. I would recommend finding some boge2.0 ohm aka LR, or smoktek 1.7ohm cartos the eGo units are based around 510 threading. Take a browse through the vendor section here at the ECF quite a few will offer these or other products like you are looking for. Good luck. Happy Vaping.
