ego-t wick

hey all, I have had the wicking and leaking issues on my ego-t. My question is, when in normal operation, does the wick touch the heating coil? or is it suspended just above the coil? I am thinking about replacing the wick and was wondering if I made it a little longer, so it might solve the leaking issue, and the wicking issue in one shot, should I make the wick touch the coil?

Nope, I just need to know if the wick is in contact with the coil when it is all put together. Those pics don't show this. Thanks anyway.

Yes... The wick contacts the coil.

I have disassembly instructions on my blog, link in signature.

If you're flooding, you should also look at how you draw on it. If you're taking less than 5 seconds to get a mouthful of vapor, you're pulling on it too hard.

The wicking works by airflow, if you draw any harder than what I mentioned, you can pull too much juice inside, and cause flooding and leaks.

I haven't had any problems for the first 3 weeks or so, then had an atty leak, no matter which tank i put on it. After researching, I read that this can be caused by the wick being too low in the piercing tube. If you pull it up a touch, it should help with the leaking. BUT, if you go too high, you can get dry burns and a nasty taste. so there is like a 1/16" sweet spot that it needs to be in. that is why I thought if I went with a longer wick, I could keep it a little higher, fixing the leaking, and also still touching the coils, fixing the dry burn tastes.
