I blew it out of the atty from the tank end into a paper towel, wiping the bottom of the atty as I blew. I do this with regular 510's as well, but I typically like to blow some e-liquid or pure VG through it at the same time.

Thanks so much! Mine came in the mail today and I didn't know if there was something special I should do.

QUESTIONs:

1) Am I able to remove the tank now and try a different juice at this time?

2) I figure I'll be blowing out some of the RY4 and still tasting it with some other juices for awhile...experiences with this? I currently only have one eGo-T atty, although I have another one on the way.

3)Can I position the inserted tank to line up with the battery button once I put the tank on the atty? Or will this have an adverse effect?

I'm excited for the system, but questions always arise with something new...looking for the optimal situation, y'know?

Thanks for any and all replies.

You might want to blow it out between flavors, I switched from a pina colada to a butterscotch with little blending of flavors.
You DO want to line up the flat sides of the cart with the flat sides of the inner atty/spike plate, apparently that is important for air flow. In doing so my button and mouthpiece are not lined up which annoys me, OCD I guess.

I just twisted it so those things lined up and to me there wasn't really any difference in vapor. I'm new to this system and I'm not a technical expert, that's just what I've read many times about the eGo T, is to line up the flat sides when you insert the cart.

springtime are you sure the hole is punctured all the way? If that hole is not open well you get horrible dry burning taste cuz it's not getting the liquid.

You're more than welcome, swedishfish!

As for VG products: the tank is handling them fine...for now. I think I'll just have to stay on top of the atty's maintenance to assure it doesn't burn out or gunk up. So far I've used Alien Visions' 555 12ml with the tank (thank you so much Mike306 for the generous gift!), and Elixir Liquid's 555 26ml; both have performed pretty darn well.

I did blow out the eGo-T atty before using the Elixir 555, since the AV was tasting of the Bauway RY4...and then I had my first mishap: I dropped the end cap of one of the tanks down the bathroom sink...oops. Oh well, I'm glad I purchased 4 initially (hoping for no more mishaps).

I can't wait to see how AV's Boba's Bounty works with the atty...it's certainly darker than either 555, so I imagine I'll really have to stay on top of things when vaping it...but I can't live without Boba's...lol.

Jennie...I feel the exact same way about the labeling on the atty! They need to get rid of the branding on the atty. I hate when it doesn't line up with the battery branding...boo. I can't get ENOUGH of this battery, however...I got a 1000mAh one, and it feels great. Don't know how I'm gonna deal with the 650's now...I'm sure I'll manage. :)

GENERAL IMPRESSIONS...simply put, there has been no taste experience to compare. The vapor production is decent, but I think it's better with a regular 510 atty, direct dripped. Still impressive, however. The throat hit is accurate to the nicotine level: 12mg hits okay...whereas 26mg can and will choke a horse. As a 24mg vaper regularly, I'm in hog heaven. Also, my vaping experience with the AV 555 lasted about 8-9 hours under medium vaping (from about 4PM to 1:30AM the next morning, with about an hour break for dinner).

All in all, if the atty holds up and doesn't get upset with the 100% VG-edness of Boba's Bounty, the eGo-T is an all-around winner.

I just got my ego-t today from FSUSA. Loving it!

Okay, so two more questions:

1.) What's the max time you should press the LED Button?

2.) Is it normal to hear a little sucking/wheezing sound when you hit it? Everything seems locked up tight, and the vapor production is great...but I don't think I'm noticing anything different with the flat sides lined up to the plate.

What say you, gang? Thank you!

I just received my ego tank kit yesterday. I was so excited, and am now so frustrated! I blew out the attys, and am using straight VG 12 mg juice. I am getting horrible, harsh hits that burn my throat. VG has been nothing but totally smooth in my 901's. do you really think that the VG juice is causing the burning? :(

My guess is the VG is not getting through the wick. Dilute it with distilled water or vodka. The ego-t works best with 80/20 mixtures. It doesn't play well with thick juices.

Burnt taste is juice not getting to the atomizer.

I don't know if there's a max, I usually do a pre-push for 1-2 seconds, inhale for 3-4 seconds, and let it go for the last second. So like 5-6 seconds with a 3-4 inhale.
Mine also makes a wheezy sound too. I didn't see a big difference if at all whether they were lined up or not, that's just what I've read from more experienced members with this unit, that it needs that air flow. I would think if that was really necessary if would be built to line up when you insert it. I'd like to find more info on that from the manufacturer...
Vapor for me is great too. :vapor:

You're welcome! I wasn't getting the flavor and consistent hit I was hoping for, so I did finally take a paper clip, my tool for several things lately, and poke at the spike hole and push the wick down just a tad. You can feel it give. Wiggled it back and forth just a bit too. I do actually think that helped though I was afraid to do it after reading about it. I'm not into dissecting the crap out of these things and messing them up.

grrrrrr I have tried everything and all I get is a harsh burning pull........so mad at spending money on this now. Guess I'll go back to cartos

Hmmm. I would say I am a fairly seasoned vapourer having been vaping for nearly 2 years. I have tried almost every setup and various mods.

I just recently purchased a Hybrid (Genisis Mod) from PeaceOfCake in Croatia, which is awesome and with it I hoped to stop having to buy any more attys. But unfortunately it needs careful tweaking and fiddling to get just right. So to get me through the work day, where I have no time to tinker with my ecig, I decided to give this ego tank a try.

My first reaction on the first day, was awesome! It was consistent and flavourful.
3 days in and now I feel like I am taking mouthfuls of toxic burnt vapor. It is pretty nasty!
The lovely tasty vapes cheesecake flavor just doesn't taste the same.

I was assuming from the description and initial feedback on this device that this is going to be the future. Low maintainance solid performer.

But at $16 an atty, now I have my doubts. Tonight I am going to get back to tweaking my Hybrid with super clean flavor and self built attys costing a fraction of the ego Tanks.

That said, the ego batteries are super impressive. They just need to nail the atty.

Ive given my first tank atty a wash and is currently drying. Meanwhile I have fired up the 2nd new atty.
Brand new these things are pretty awesome. Shame they just don't stay that way. But I really don't want to be back to bulk ordering 15 attys at a time like I did with the $3 LR 510 attys. Especially at $16 an atty.

As I've posted elsewhere, it may help you guys:

Here are my eGo-T tips and tricks:

1 - Never use a juice with more than 30% VG - Too much VG and you can burn out the atty, it doesn't wick well.
2 - Stay away from Darker juices (They'll work, but you'll have to clean your atty every other day)
3 - Clean your atty at LEAST once a week, I prefer the soda bottle method - Here..
4 - Make sure your wick is in the right position. If your first 3-4 hard primer puffs (without pressing the button) don't give you a nice vape, use a paperclip to push the wick down inside the needle about 1mm, do this very gently or you can damage your atty.
5 - Make sure your tank is FULLY seated, there should be NO gap between the cone and edge of the tank.
6 - After inserting the tank, rotate the tank inside the atty at least 45 degrees, some people spin it around a few times. The final orientation of the tank in the atomizer doesn't really matter.

All of these have become part of the routine, and I have no problems with my unit at all.

On a side note, you should also check to see if you have the v1 or v2 atomizer. The v1 had a blunt needle inside, and is slightly thinner than the v2. The v2 has the pointed needle and is thicker, for better wicking. V1 atomizers have been known to have issues.

On the "LONG" Ego tank system thread there was an excellent long post that pretty much summarized the tips -- somewhere between 150 and 200 posts. Haven't been able to find it again--want to print it! Would be great if someone could supply link here on this newer thread as it covered so much.

Still working on my own set up, but as an ex chain smoker I find I'm switching back and forth between Tank & 510 ego as I'm working out flavors and nic levels as well.

Been practically living on this forum for some days -- suggest all read some of the sticky stuff. Really helpful.

As I've posted elsewhere, it may help you guys:

I run 70% VG Juice and its wicking fine with plumes of vapor, I think my Bobas bounty may even be higher and that's fine too, I don't think VG is as big of an issue with these as some think, after all the heating element gets plenty hot enough to vaporize the liquids, just my findings, other could be different, I did have one Atty that was just plain bad and I think there are some bad ones out there as well as some improvements they could make on these things for sure. The following would be nice to see.

1. A stainless steel tank
2. A 3ml tank
3. a bit bigger & wider of a needle in the Atty
4. And if they did the above, they could lower the ohms to 2ohm maybe 1.8 on the Atty itself

Just my opinion, but I think these 4 things would vastly improve this system, and we may very well see this happen too
