what if i have an atomizer with a tank and the tank keeps leaking fluid. i have tried multiple different attimizers and tanks but the same thing keeps happening. i have a riva battery which is pretty much identical to the ego and i have a come and a tank that doubles as a mouth piece. idk whats wrong

This is a perpetual problem with the eGo-T. They leak. They've always leaked. They always will leak. Most people get sick of the drama, ditch all that cone atomizer and tank stuff and replace it with a decent clearomizer or cartomizer or tank or something. It sounds like your Riva is having the same problem and, honestly, I'd suggest the same solution that most eGo-T users eventually use. You won't regret it. Try a CE4 ego Vision Clearomizer or "Stardust". They taste better, make better vapor and they don't leak.

Follow up question: I'd like to try the cartomizers as well, but am a little concerned about prepping them. My friend is running dual coils on a lava tube, but to get them to work correctly he has to punch additional holes in the atty. Is this necessary for the single coils as well?

How well the cartomizer works in a tank depends on how thick the juice is. With high VG juice and a Smoketech cartomizer, you'll need to either enlarge the hole or get a carto with 2 or more holes. The stock Smoketech carto that comes with a DCT tank has a very tiny hole and only works with juice containing about 0-10% VG.

The issue has nothing to do with whether they are single or dual coil. It's strictly a matter of how thick your juice is. You might ask your friend what voltage he sets his Lavatube to when he's using dual coils. I'd be willing to bet it's over 4 volts.

Hi, To crazyvapor, The tank style attys like you mentioned have that problem fairly regularly. I used them for ove five months so I have my own fair share of experience with them. The most likely thing that going on is you have a fairly thin liquid and you are sucking too hard on the inhale draw. Begin by taking slow(really slow) gentle( really gentle) draws. You dont want to hear the air rushing into the intake holes, that is the esiest way to over feed your tank atty. Most folks have moved on from the tank style attys in favor of cartomizers, clearomizers , ce2(3,4+)and carto tanks. The tank atomizers are far too fiddley in my opinion to be worth messing around with all the freaking time. Befor you go and plunk down another almost $10 for a replacement "t" atty pick up a package of Boge 2ohm or smoktek 1.7ohm cartomizers and give them a good honest try. Follow the filling recommendations that can be found around just about every corner here at ECF. I promise you you will enjoy them much better than those tanks you are currently saddled with.

To SazoidX, Most of the tank cartos come pre punched but they dont always feed well with that one small hole. If you like thicker liquids you will most likely have to punch a second hole in almost any carto that goes in your tank. If you draw lightly on your pv, even with thinner liquid you may want a second hole. Your friend has already figured out what they need for the carto to stay wet. Everybody who uses a carto tank should have a way to determine what they need to do to make it feed correctly for the way they vape, dual coil or single coil the variable is the user. I use a single 3ohm single coil in a tank regularly. I open the single hole just about doubling overall the size of the hole, I vape 100% VG (thinned with distilled water) I make my own liquids so I have found what works best for me and even what I need to do to my liquid to help. With a little experimentation only you will be able to answer if you will need more holes.
To all. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Hi Sailorman -
I recently received my lavatube VV, and I have read, that for my tank I want a single coil 3.0 ohm carto, to vape at the higher voltage. For a tank system on a variable voltage vaporizer, what setup would you recommend?
Thanks
With a carto tank, yes, a 3ohm carto will give you the full voltage range. (I'm assuming you got the version 1 Lavatube with a 2.5amp limiter). You could go down as low as 2ohms and still get 5 volts and 12.5 watts, and that's pretty toasty. Just avoid cartos much lower than that, specifically dual coil 1.5ohm cartos as these will limit you to 3.7V. If you're using the version 1.5 or 2 Lavatube, you can use pretty much any carto you want and a dual coil might give good results, although you'll still be limited somewhat by the 3.2amp limit of the ver. 1.5. In general, stick to 2-3 ohms single coil and you'll be golden.

Personally, I prefer atomizer tanks. I've been using a Vision Stone 3 with great results and it looks like it was custom built for a Lavatube, but I've just ordered the new, revised Vivi Nova and have high hopes for it, especially since I understand you can rebuild the atomizer. The Acorn is another good atomizer tank, if you can get over the somewhat hokey look (Parkevaping or Parkvaping or Parkesvaping, something like that. Google Acorn tank)

You should get an easy 7-8 hours chain vaping with 1000mah. The Joye specs estimate one battery to last 4-6 months. If you rotate 2 per day, you should expect 8-12 months on a single battery. So, it seems that you are already experiencing the damage dual coils do without realizing it.

I appreciate your perspective. Thanks for the info.
