Ego Twist colors??

Just out of curiousity, why is it that there USED to be a bunch of colors generally available for the ego twists, but now it seems like there are only a handful of vendors that still have different colors? It looks like 90% of them only have black, white and pink?? Did something happen?? Are these like a ... "new generation" or something?
