I've got a 900mah VV C Twist that I bought in early March. I am not an all-day vaper and use it maybe 2 hrs/day in the evenings. Sometimes I'll remember to charge it after a few days but sometimes it drains until the shutoff light flashes (I assume a shutdown safety circuit so it doesn't drain to 0). Now I'm not so sure its holding a charge.

What's the average lifetime for a LiPo battery like this? Is it normal that I should be thinking about tossing it after 4 months of limited use and getting a replacement?? Shouldn't it have a longer life??

THanks.

It depends upon who actually made the battery, if it is an genuine Joytech eGo Twist or a knockoff brand, and also on the individual battery cell. Allegedly these batteries should have at least a 250 or more duty cycle, which means it should be able to be recharged at least 250 times.

The name brands Joytech Twists and Vision Spinners seem to be better quality batteries. Anything else eGo can be hit or miss. BTW, "ego" is not a brand but merely a class of battery.

How you charge your battery seems to affect battery life. Using the charger recommended/sold by the manufacturer, not one from another manufacturer. Use the usb/wall adaptor recommended by the battery manufacturer, not a computer usb or car usb port. Remove the battery from the charger as soon as the charger indicator turns from red to green; leaving the battery on the charger overnight while sleeping harms the battery over the long term and will decrease its overall life expectancy. Clean the top connector with alcohol to remove any e-liquid; e-liquid can cause corrosion of the metal contacts. Batteries or chargers can both go bad inexplicably - have a backup for each.

THanks!! I believe its a genuine Joyetech twist. I do use the provided charger and a wall adapter (I don't use it with a computer USB port). I generally leave it plugged in overnight....I didn't realize that could have an impact on battery life.

What about WHEN to charge??...after an auto shutdown or at some point before then?? Is it best to "top it off" daily? Or doesn't it really matter??

I have 2 900mah genuine Twists in rotation, both are well over 6 months old and they last about 7 hours before shutdown. If I get home before a shutdown, I put it on the charger when I get home and use my MVP's. Charging takes about 3 1/2 hours.

I had another 1100mah genuine Twist that only 'lived' about 4 months, but I believe it may have been old stock, as it never lasted very long on a charge.

I've had 2 off brand twists that didn't last very long, and they seemed to not 'vape' as well as the real ones either.
