how did you guys take apart the ego twist.. i am trying but afraid to mess it up more than it already is.. I can't seem to get the bottom twist part off... i took the cap off already.. but the blue variable piece won't move... does it come out from the bottom or the cig or does it go thru the top?

Push the plastic up to the top. The metal collar is force fit/glued

Great! I'm attempting the same but the part I'm not sure about is the POT. It seems from your pics that you kept all the parts from the dial. Mine is completely gutted and I notice there are 2 stacked circuits between battery and POT. Do you know if it would work without these circuits by simply connecting the 3 pins from the POT to the main switch circuit? Is the regulation done down there or on the main switch pcb? thanks

Glad I found this thread.

A few days ago, I went to take my KGO vv pass through off the charge, I pulled the USB cord same as always, and the whole piece, with LCD screen and all started sliding out. Luckily, I realized before I ruined anything, and slid it back in... still works fine, BUT.... that got me thinking about whether or not it could be modded into a box, or flashlight tube or something with an 18650.
Since seeing this thread, I think I'm going to try it :D. Not gonna wait for mine to die, it was like $25, I'll just order the bigger version, and scavenge from this one.
