There are quite a few here who would like to save you some disappointment. While the eGo does a fair job of getting a lot of features in a small package, they are certainly easy to fry. If they keep you just happy enough, you will be back for more.

Had my twist hanging from the joyetech lanyard and button thing, jammed my button inside. Fixed the button but, interested in using it in a box with a replaceable 14500. It would be kind of neat to have the twists end cap for adjustment and the ego thread top on it.

A lot of the slickness of these are the OEM assembly itself. The innards aren't all that great in and of themselves. Frankensteining them into a plastic box doesn't sound all that hot from a design point of view. A bigger better tube that incorporates the components nicely, maybe.

Trial and error. Finding out the contacts for the external pushbutton
Just testing. 3,37 Volt
and 4,9V. It works.

This mod was built quick & dirty. The next step will be a 3A fuse, LiPo display and a cover.
Sweet. Too bad I broke mine to bits. Might have to grab another or find someone else that has "broken" theirs.

Im curious if the 5 click protection still works with this setup? I want to make this kind of mod with a broken ego I have and I unforcently broke the pot. does anyone know its min and max values?
how did you guys take apart the ego twist.. i am trying but afraid to mess it up more than it already is.. I can't seem to get the bottom twist part off... i took the cap off already.. but the blue variable piece won't move... does it come out from the bottom or the cig or does it go thru the top?
