I was on a float trip down a small river with my family. We pulled over to a sand bar to swim and eat lunch. Apparently I forgot I had my ego twist sitting on my lap when I stepped out into the water to pull the boat ashore. I got out, walked around a little, opened a can of soup and started eating it. My wife shouted, "Hey! Oh no!!" and pointed by the boat. I looked down and saw my ego and vivi nova under about a foot of water. I grabbed it, and took the vivi off, shook it to get as much water off, and started drying it off with my shirt. I hit the fire button and it came on! I couldn't believe it! I kept working on getting more water out of it, and eventually it seemed dry on the outside. After dumping the juice out of the vivi nova and replacing the coil and wick, I filled it back up and put it on the same battery. It kept working! This happened the Sunday before last. I've been using it for a little over a week now and no problems at all. It's like it never even happened! I've dropped stick batteries in liquid accidentally in the past, and it ruined them. I guess I got really lucky this time.
