ego twist tanks leaking blue residue?

Hi, guys. I tried posting to the model specific forums but since I'm a new member I'll give it a shot here. I got two ego twist batteries about 3 months ago and I noticed recently that one of them has been pulling harder than the other one. I took the tank off and noticed that there is a good amount of bluish gunk where the battery comes into contact with the tank and around it. Any insight into this? I have since stopped using it, but it is a little worrisome since that's where the air goes in and stuff. Any visibility into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

edit: I should clarify that the battery is leaking blue residue, not the tank. Hence the concern.

Could be the battery is gunked with juice and you're getting a bad electrical connection. With the battery turned off try cleaning with isopropyl. The batteries are sealed so are "less" susceptible to juices damaging the batts.

You're welcome. I'm not absolutely sure but it's a VERY rare occurrence. Realize also some "acidic" juices will "melt" some plastic tanks.

That makes a lot of sense. Nothing on the battery seems eroded; it just seems to be covered with gunk. I'll give it a thorough cleaning tonight and check it out. Thanks, again!

Clean the threads and center pin regularly. also do the same to your charger. That corrosion if left untreated can damage threads as well as your battery and charger.

You're welcome. Also a good idea to clean the charger and whatever you're using to hold your juice (battery end) while you're at it.

Hmm. It could be the results of a plastic tank being disintegrated by the liquid you're using in it. Some citrus, cinnamon and other flavors are known to destroy the plastic innards of some tanks.

Can you post a photo? I don't know of any e-cig liquids that are blue. And the term "gunk" can mean almost anything. It is the same type of white-bluish gunk that can appear on dying auto battery terminals?

I would really like to see what this gunk looks like. If it is the same type of material you see on an auto battery, that thing needs to go outside somewhere. Like... right now.

The other one has a little bit on the ring surrounding the center pin. I keep them in my jeans sometimes, but rarely. It mostly stays on my bed, which also has blue sheets...

I also recently bought new tanks because my original kanger t3 wasn't pulling at all. The old tank has the bluish material in it, as well. However, it's dried out since I haven't been using it.



Also, I'm using a bare-bones unflavored 75/25 vg/pg liquid dliuted down to 50/50.

It appear to be juice gunk intermingled with blue jean lint to me, the battery top/connection and the underside of your delivery devices should be cleaned frequently.

Best to keep it clean, like every time you fill the delivery device and at least every time you charge the battery. Most folks find they need to dry that area once to several time per day.
I bet if you soak that t3 in PGA or Vodka over night to 24 hours then fill and shake vigorously several times then allow to dry it'll work fine again.
Might need a couple light quick dry burns too, (2 ~3 seconds) rinse with PGA or vodka afterwords.

It's important to wash the tanks and wicks out. I vape 2 mg unflavored and wash my tanks/ wicks once per week. I also lightly dry burn the heads about once per week. Whether the juice is on the battery, charger or tank it will eventually clog/ gunk things up.

I realize now how important it is. I did it initially in the beginning but I got lazy with it and kept putting it off. Gonna go give them a thorough cleaning tonight!

Clean the contacts, empty and rinse the Nova's that I have taken off and set aside. Clean and dry burn my heads. Just generally getting everything ready for the next week. I would buy my carton of cigs every Friday so that routine just kind of was the same amount of time, relatively speaking.

Maintain your equipment and it will last months longer, if not years depending on what you have.
