Awe shucks... I tried your idea, with lots of hope it would work. :-( however, it didn't. I decided not to go straight to post office to return this one in hopes I might find a remedy. I started thinking this had to be operator error...

I have the this one and the only problem I have had with it is that the center pin is prone to being pushed down if I crank the tank on too hard, perhaps this is what is happening to yours. Just wiggle the pin a bit and it should fire right back up.

I'm curious to know if everyone is still happy with their ego V3, I'm trying to decide between this and the itaste V3 and having a hard time! I have 2 Twists, they're 650mAh and I get about 2 days on them, although now I've gotten into the habit of just charging them every night (not over night, just as I'm laying in bed watching TV after my kiddos go to bed) because when I was testing them to see how long they would last, they BOTH dyed at the most inconvenient time, when I wasn't at home! I knew I didn't want that to happen again as I don't have any back ups (yet)!

I like the stability of the itaste V3 (just from the reviews I've seen) and since I can get more than a day off my 650mAh, the 800mAh is an upgrade for me! But to have the option to get something I'm more familiar with already, with a bigger battery AND lower cost, that sounds even better. I'm using Smok Tech's Pyrex carto tanks, I have 1.5ohm duel coil and am waiting for my 3ohm single coils to come in (I have issues with dry hits that taste like metal to me for some reason, which is why I switched to cartos and while I haven't had issues with that on the 1.5ohm duel coils, I figured I'd have LESS chances of having problems with a single, although I could be WAY wrong lol).

Ordered a pair of these from FT too..47 n change total. Nice price for two instead of one SVD, which I'm STILL considering for home use.. LOL :D These I can use as my daily drivers and work and keep the svd for home use.
One in silver one black. Silvers in stock. Black isn't till the 8th (supposedly). Got two since I vape two flavors n swap out constantly. Easier than swapping tanks all the time. I get about a day off the 650 evod batts I have now, and the vape seems to drop off about 3/4 thru the day. Now I can keep em as a backup when I need to charge the evo's.

The ego v V2 was just as accurate as the KGO VV, which was different back then, and I see no reason for this one to be different. The problem with saying they dont go as high as advertised is 'using what coil'? These only have a 2.5amp draw rating and if you use a low ohm coil, it will self limit at that 2.5amp, which will come in rather quickly on a low ohm coil (ie: 1.5-2.0). In this case, you simply need to use a higher ohm coil.

Edit: have a link to the pbusardo review? I can only find the old VV one. Not the VW one.

edit2: Nevermind, found it.. Kgo VV V2
