While doing a little research on the products the nice forum goers have been providing me, I came across a claim that Kgo is a rip off of Ego. So now I am wondering, do they work the same or are there differences? I really like that Kgo is compatible with USB charging but I don't want to end up with a bad version of a good product...can someone clarify?

Hoosier e-cig supply has a Kgo kit that is cheaper than the ego kit above, AND comes with TWO full KGOs (2 batteries, 2 cones, 2 atomisers, etc, and the usb with AC adapter charger.

Edited to add: I didn't add those unrelated links, it was done by the forum itself apparently.)

I don't get paid until tomorrow...it's too bad. I would have LOVED that kit. Maybe I'll get lucky and tomorrow's deal of the day will still have the Ego Kit.

After peaking at that other person's thread, I think Kgo from Hoosier is my best bet. Thank you for all the explanations! It'll be good to get off this V2 battery and premade carts and onto the bigger and better toys. ;)

seriously, check out hoosiers. KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit that's not a special's price, it's the all the time price, and you'll get more for less money. The guy is REALLY fast at shipping stuff out too. (I have no affiliation with them, and I actually bought my kgo from Northwest Vapor -- good too, but if I'd checked out hoosiers then I would have got one from them. I HAVE been buying all the supplies for it from hoosiers though).

The eGo was a specific model/style manufactured by Joyetech; the KGO & variants are simply e-cigs manufactured by other companies, using the same eGo styling. So, the KGO is a knockoff, in the same way that firefox would be a knockoff of IE.

There are, I am sure, many off-brand eGo-style PV's that are of a lesser quality than the Joye original; however, not every eGo-style device will be worse than the original. I (and many others) find the KGO to be BETTER than the original eGo.

Send a PM to Tim at Vaporbeast, he has a link on ECF JUST Type it in and I bet you he will hold the price for you. He's getting known for his service and helping when he can. Also consider the 18650 e power for a nice battery mod! That Beast last all day! Also saw this deal on a Kgo which may appeal to you! http://hoosierecigsupply.com/KGO-kit-1100mAh-by-SLB-HEC001.htm

...Just like I like Firefox better than Internet Explorer. Well I'm sold. Now I know what I want for an e-cig...time to meander through some premade e-liquids to get me going until I can make my own. :D

$8.99 for 50ml of juice. I have been very happy with Madvapes.com. Here is another link for you Azura!!

There is a difference between the Ego and the Kgo. The Ego is 3.4 volts and some of it's bit and pieces are proprietary even though it has 510 threading, and so would be more expensive. The Kgo is 3.7 volts with non-proprietary bits and pieces, also with 510 threading. I, personally, think the Kgo is the better PV, performance and money wise.

in the same way that firefox would be a knockoff of IE.

Hmm, kind of the other way around. Firefox is a descendant of Netscape, which was produced by a company founded by Marc Andreesen (amongst others) who was also one of the original developers of NCSA Mosaic.

IE came to exist long after Netscape had been around for a good long while, but used some of the Mosaic source code. As of version 7, however, the Mosaic code is gone, so that lineage has been broken.

So I don't think it would be entirely accurate to call either one a knock off of the other, but if someone were to insist on making such a statement then calling IE a knockoff of Firefox would be much more in line with the actual history of the products.
