This is really weird.. Put my new Ego-T on the charger last night (it's been working fine over the past few days). Took it off this morning and put on a smok Tek Mega Dual Coil. It starts the carto up right away without having to press a button.. Then when I press the button it doesn't do anything, just keeps making vapor from the carto.. Is this battery a dud?

Yeah, the button doesn't light up at all. I've tried repeatedly clicking it, putting it back on the charger, tapping it on the table lightly. Nothing works. Guess I'll be contacting the vendor.

Does the button light up when you screw in the DC? If so, the button may just be stuck.
Let it burn for over 10 seconds and see if it cuts out. If it doesn't cut out or the button is
not lit ( will the button light when pressed while DC is not screwed in ? ), the button is
probably fried.

I have the same issue, only it happened to TWO of my working batteries!! I hit my Ego-t and when I released the button, it kept burning the atty. I switched to the other battery and it did the exact same thing... A third one did the same thing but then started working again. The two that don't work: the buttons don't light up at all now and when I screw them on the charger, the buttons don't flash. HOWEVER, if I do the 5 click lock, the button flashes. I have no idea wtf is wrong with two batteries that worked fine before.

My theory is that something got wet somehow (that's the only thing I can come up with as to why this would happen to 2 batteries in a row). I cleaned them as best I could with tissues and I am going to let them sit overnight and see if they work tomorrow.

I just got the C tank and was wondering if maybe my base or attys were bad, but I tried another atty in the base and had the same issue. I also tried an A tank and the same thing happens.

this just happened to my new KGO battery. have tried everything to get it to work. carto/atty fires up without pressing the button, not it just flashes 3 times when i screw on a carto and flashes 5 times fast when i unscrew it. tested with a DMM and its showing voltage(3.89v) without the button pressed. no clue what happened. guess i need to contact the vender as well?

This is most likely 1 of 2 things. It is PROBABLY a short, which means something that got onto the battery connector (could be anything from a bad atty to a bad adapter or liquid got past the seal) It can also be a failure in the button circuitry.

If your ego button flashes when you push it, that's a failsafe built into most ego batteries that prevent it from firing up an atty that it doesn't like. That can be an aspect of the short, or your battery could simply "not like" the atty or carto that you're using, and you can try another one.

But if your battery is firing all by itself you probably have a short, and the battery is toast.
