I've been vaping for years now..yes years. My "member since" date occured about a month(?) after I started vaping. I've been merrily vaping along all this time, and finally settled on "cool carts" as my favorite vape, because theyre near invincible and survive refilling better than any cart ive tried *to date*... my emphasis lies in the fact that I *just* got the EGO kit which comes with 5 "King Kong" sized cartos (5ml holy crap!) and a tank thing.....all of which are 1.5 ohms (advertised). I immediately realize (without trying, as i let new cartos soak over night at least before use) that these are *not* going to respond well to my single logo long batteries (not the new diamond versions) which are maybe 5 months old (and i vape like a freight train) so it's good that they come with two batteries that weigh enough to hurt someone if you throw it at them.
I initially bought the kit because the batteries fit 808-d cartos..which lets face it, is a bonus...and conversely the tank thingie and the whopping big king kong sized cartos are also threaded for 808-d batts, although I don't see that happening in public (lol).
One thing im curious about: If it turns out I like the OMFG huge cartos, I don't see replacements for sale (thinking of this for the wife..i can give her one and not see her back for a week or two) for the big EGO cartos (formerly dubbed, by me, as king kong cartos)...do they exist on site?
I also see that there are several coil/ohm combos.
I'll be honest, I don't want my e-cig to body slam me..so I'm guessing (without having tried it yet) that 1.5 ohms is going to be brutal (im still going to use it up lol) on my tank (looks like thats what it comes with)..but given that the way they arrive at 1.5 ohms is by wiring a pair of 3's side by side..is this thing going to vape like a 1.5 or a 3.0?...If the answer is "holy crap let me recover from that last drag before I try to answer" then I'll have to buy a pile of 2.0 ohm dual coils and hope for the best?
I just spent an hour reading, looks like the single coils are a wash for longevety..which only makes sense from an ecig-engineering standpoint. considering the extra cost for tank cartos, one has to expect extra duration. Anyone try the higher ohms (thus cooler and less overwhelming vapor) dual coils ..which i believe is at 2 ohms..as i didn't see any other varieties?
One last bit: Is it in any way wise to use these mongo ego cartos or tanks on a passthrough? I have an old manual green V4L passthrough that has to date been unstoppable..but i don't want to finally stop it when it stares face first into that 1.5 ohm load..i'm really not sure it'd handle it. I have a road trip planned, and I'd hate to even contemplate relying on batteries in the car except under dire circumstances.
SO for those having great difficulty following that seemingly insane rambling (yeah I got an new ecig, i'm excited, the questions were:
Are those big honkin EGO cartos on sale anywhere on V4L website? didn't see 'em?
Has anyone used to using properly functioning cool carts tried the new tanks? since I have to stick with dual coils for durability, is the 2.0 ohm cooler and friendlier than the 1.5 (I'll know more about the 1.5 tomorrow)
Has anyone tried the tanks and mongo EGO cartos on a USB passthrough? something special required, or will a plain old pass through handle this immense workload?
Thanks in advance for your answers if any
Larry.
