Good for Joytech. Apparently smok doesn't extend the same courtesy. My B&M store said it is only a 14 day warranty. I brought mine back within a week and my B&M store wont replace it without first "testing it." This tells me that they think I am a liar.

How is that the problem of the manufacturer? That's the store's right, we took my husband's X-Fire to our shop when it stopped firing. They checked it out, tried it a few times, decided it was the stock tank and handed him a Protank 2 as a replacement. I thought it would be obvious they'd check it out before they just hand you a new one but that's just me. I could walk in there with my smok tomorrow and get the same treatment because my shop goes above and beyond for their customers. If you don't have that, shop elsewhere.

Why recommend Ego style batteries to new vapors? You are right, it is MUCH BETTER to recommend a large/heavy/unwieldy/expensive device to a confused nicotine addict looking for a fix. I SURELY would have quit if I had to buy a $200 set up (exclusive of juice) rather than a cheap and easy to use rig. Yep, that's the ticket. We should just shut down this forum and discussion today, after such sage advice.

What topper do you suggest? Surely a Z-Atty Pro or other fun rebuildable.

I am still fairly new to vaping. While I may not have the time logged a lot of members here have, due to my background, I do know a lot about electronics, physics, computer science, etc.

I have spent probably $200 just on EGO batteries in the short few months I have been vaping. What do I have to show for it? Nothing.

Trust me on this, newbs.

I'm sorry dude, but I don't trust anyone who has spent $200.00 knockoff eGo batteries. I bought 2 1000 mAh eGo C-Twists when I started and added a 650 mAh and they are all running fine. I have to really work them to run them out of juice before recharging them. The only advice I can give to newbs (Anyone "newbier" than me! ;)) is to stick to name brand items, not "eGo type" batteries or "Evod type" tanks, etc. Doing that has served me well. Oh, and to learn to value the opinion of those who have been at this for awhile.

I wrote user manuals for tons of proprietary computer software as well as hardware products. Let me explain to you that if a US company sends their work to off-shore to be manufactured, they are still responsible for writing the technical manuals for their products that they designed. They are only "assembled" in China.

If they don't, it's because they are too cheap to PAY a U.S. worker to do it back in their own corporate headquarters.

I lost projects that were off-shored, including the manual writing.

By the way, there is a reason why products designed in the US are made in china. It's chillingly simple:
Why Apple's products are 'Designed in California' but 'Assembled in China' | Breaking Apple News, Tips and Reviews from The Unofficial Apple Weblog

No offense but you don't seem to understand the global manufacturing and delivery system.

The reason the iPhone is made in China is because, well, there is no U.S. manufacturer of most of the electronic components used. And there is no U.S. manufacturer because, well, American workers expect a living wage, insurance, and retirement. The U.S. Government expects EPA environmental control which costs money to comply with (no regulations in China -- none at all. You can dump whatever you want into the rivers, literally). And there are no exorbitant taxes in China like in the U.S. So, goodbye American manufacturing. Nice knowing ya.

As for Apple, they do not make their own components, except in rare cases. The processor itself is (I believe) made by Samsung (Korea). That's why Steve Jobs was afraid of suing Samsung (as he threatened) for "ripping off" the Iphone with some of their Android models. Why? Because his own iPhone has Samsung hardware in it. It would be kind of a conflict of interest if he sued the company that made his phone work. Apple nowadays (unlike the 80's) just designs products and sends the blueprints to Korea and China for manufacture. There's only a few chip fab plants in the world, and most of them are in Asia (I believe Intel has one in Britain and in the USA). AMD has most all of theirs in Asia, which is why they are less expensive than Intel.

Even though the Iphone is made primarily in China with components made in other parts of Asia, it is still way expensive. This is why, I think, most people use Android.

we get it...you got cheated by your local vendor and instead of them taking responsibility and instead of you confronting them you have decided that it's not the vendors problem it's the chinese all ego's in general and "veterans" recommending egos.

(look at other posts by this user) you seem to really like to poke at "chinese" and bad mouth them and egos when in fact the device you are using isn't exactly an ego battery...ego's don't have battery notification screens.....it's an "ego styled" battery but it's not an ego battery...furthermore as it's been said pretty much every e-cig and mod are made in china (check the boxes) as most everything now a days

as I had suggested in your other bashing thread (which has vanished *hm, I wonder why*) if you had, what 5 "egos" die, to me it seems that maybe you have a faulty charger. But I'm guessing here, you bought all your stuff from the same vendor?

I'm sorry but most of your posts seem to be bordered towards racism and trying to start some sort of argument about chinese quality, veteran vapors and ego batteries....but then i'm in an off mood today, so what do i know

*goes back to lurking*

This is exactly what I was thinking. His vendor is a crook but he's blaming China and anything other than the local store....

Don't make me laugh. I am racist because I point out an evident lack of quality control coming from Chinese e-cig companies? I guess Busardo is racist as well because he routinely points out that Chinese products lack "quality control?" As I said previously, I don't really care where it's made. I just want it to work and to be covered if it doesn't work. I have no idea what SMOK's warranty is, I am just going by what my local vendor says. Maybe they are lying. I don't know. Maybe it's all their fault (maybe it truly is, I will find out later).

Either way, I don't think I have a lone dud, as I have two and neither work exactly as they should. I have heard similar stories from people on these forums regarding the same model.

I still use the two Joytech eGo twists I got when I first started 11 months ago. Use them daily. Still working just fine. Some of the finish as worn off but they still work and hold a charge.

And that's from someone with "Provarinati in fideliam" above their avatar! BTW, Susan W, I love your kitty in a bottle. I can so see a kitten getting in there!

Okay my turn. I have seen nothing helpful come from you Op. On the other hand, I have seen, just as I have come to expect to see, many helpful thoughts and opinions come from our other fellow forum members. It's a damn shame to see someone start a discouraging thread! But I can always expect the loyal members to be there with their words of experienced based knowledge and insight. Therefore, in my opinion the only thing that has made this thread worth any value is solely due to the value of the other posting members.
Hey newbies, don't let garbage propaganda discourage you from vaping! If you want to get yourself an authentic Ego or even Kgo then pull the trigger and go for it. Tons of us have been very happy that we did.

sorry i'm not gonna argue...as I said i'm in an odd mood so what do I know but from the thread that was deleted...it's not quality control...it was more a blatant smack in the face to chinese and chinese workers....

but anyways, hopefully your vendor fixes their problem and you have better luck in vaping.

As if I don't have knowledge and insight? Trust me, I have a lot of knowledge, yet I can see that the egos are of low quality. If you want a good vaping experience, you are going to have to spend $300 or so to have it. Sorry, but that's just the way it is. Maybe one day we can have high quality products made for much less than that, but so far American (and some Euro companies) are the only ones making high quality products. Innokin may be one exception, but they are about as expensive as their American counterparts.

I am not trying to discourage anyone. Indeed, as a new vapor, I am the one becoming discouraged because of all the trouble I have had from buying cheap products.

I'll bet someone else has set you straight - but lemma have a minute of your time.

You repeatedly say "eGo STYLE battery. So i presume (correct me if I am wrong) you purchased just that - an "eGo STYLE battery" - not a JoyeTech eGo-C / JoyeTech eGo-C Upgrade - a GENUINE JoyeTech product - not the knockoffs I believe you are describing.

So? Confirm my suspicion OR disprove them; I seriously doubt GENUINE JoyeTech eGO-C BATTERIES are what you have in your mitts.

As far as this: "So, for all of you veterans who tell newbs to "start with an Ego" I will have to firmly disagree. Ego's are garbage and should be completely bypassed for real equipment from day one." ............ to be blunt - you are full of hot air.

I have an extremely wonderful vaping experience on a daily basis. $300? Sorry pal but you're wrong! And sorry about your discouragement but you don't need to spread it around like the flu. How's that helping anyone?

Ya simply are blowing crap. Period. Buy a pack of cigarettes and have a nice long deep draw.
