I have an eGo-T passthrough that just flat quit last night after about two months of use, 95% of the time as a passthrough continually hooked up to the computer. So, I went to one of the FOUR other back up mega eGo-T batteries that I bought through 2 different companies and not a single one of them held their charge through the first two or three puffs. I had charged them all, so I thought, and their lights came on when pressed but when the atomizer was screwed in the light would flash and no steam. I changed atomizers, thinking maybe that was the problem, but nope. So, I stuck one of them on the charger, waited over night and that battery didn't work this morning. Same thing. The white light came on when pressed but when the atomizer was screwed on the light would flash several times and it produces no steam. I have had a second battery on the charger all day today and it still isn't working.

I bought two of the eGo-T mega batteries as part of a starter kit and have been using the charger that came with it to charge all of the eGo-T mega batteries so I think it is the correct charger. The little green light does come on both when it is connected via its usb connection to the computer or to the wall connector that came with it.

This is truly aggravating. I have been vaping for 3 years however, this January gave up analog cigarettes completely in a promise to both my husband and grandkids. Today has been HELL as I scrounge around the house looking for all my old ecigs and try to piece together previous ones used. I am using an old passthrough right now that doesn't have half the strength of the eGo, its switch is missing so I have to press the end of a pair of tweezers in it to flip the manual switch. As I write this I am chuckling, but about 10 minutes ago I really wanted to fling something across the room and everyone is walking on eggshells anywhere near me. :(

My questions: 1) Shouldn't the eGo-T passthrough last longer than 2.5 months? Should I ask for a replacement from the place where I got it? 2) Could it be the charger that isn't working for the eGo batteries? All FOUR of them not working? Bought from 2 different companies? Should I tell the place where I bought the eGo-T kit that neither the batteries or the charger works and I would like them replaced? Then, after getting a new charger try it on the other two batteries and then if the they don't work contact that place and ask for a replacement for them?

At $12/apiece for these batteries I am NOT willing to just shrug this off.

If you think I may be doing something wrong with the batteries, PLEASE, inform me. I am soooo frustrated at this point. I vaguely remember something about their being a safety feature on these mega batteries where if you tap the button five times you kill the battery so it doesn't accidentally come on in your pocket? Could I have accidentally hit it and now the batteries won't charge? HEEEEELLLLLPPPP!

That's mighty low for a genuine Joyetech battery. Are you sure they're the real deal? Is there a little laser-etched "CE" on the metal part where the switch is?

Also, four duds, even if they are clones, sounds really unlikely. Chargers do go bad; I just had to send a defective TrustFire TR-001 back.

Thank-you for the input, everyone, it is appreciated. The passthrough is supposedly made to be plugged in 24/7, hence the name passthrough, I would think. There is no warning on it not to leave it plugged in. I could be wrong. I am waiting to hear back from the companies, now. I contacted both and told them what is going on. I think it has to be the charger for the mega batteries and the passthrough just conked. Just bad luck to happen at the same time. I would never have discovered the bad charger/mega batteries if the passthrough hadn't have conked out. Hope the companies act fact and this other passthrough holds out. I live in a town that has one smokeshop selling one brand of generic ecigs. The kind with cartomizers, no way to drip, one flavor. Might get me through in a pinch. I really, really, really don't want to succumb to the lure of the analog.

Don't do it! You might want to look in the PIF section, sometimes there are people giving them away to others who need them. Or maybe look for a local group on here or FB, I have seen a few folks donate things to others to help them get by. I would send you an eGo battery, but it wouldn't do you much good without a charger! And I am fresh out of extra chargers!

What is the warranty policy from the place that you purchased your Ego T passthrough and batteries? Their policy is what will dictate if they will replace it or not. Those warrenty periods vary greatly with different vendors. Example being the vendor that you used to show what the PT looked like has a one month warranty on their products.

Will that was a kick in the teeth! Both vendors, Rocky Mountain Vapors and Valley Vapors refused to replace any merchandise in the first round of emails. I really pitched a fit with both, saying how much money was spent and we are constantly encouraged by these vendors to "buy ahead" and to keep our supplies up so we will never have to be without yet when we go to one of our back-up units and they don't work we can't get our money back? What the heck? I have spent over a couple of hundred dollars on these two vendors and they couldn't send me replacement equipment for their faulty merchandise? Rocky Mountain Vapor said it would send me a "free" charger but whether or not it solved the problem of the batteries they would not replace any product bought more than three months ago. Valley Vapor, where I bought the $24.99 eGot/c/passthrough, refused to replace the equipment saying it only warranties its products for one month, no matter how much it cost. Both vendors said that no electronic product anywhere is warrantied for over a month!

VERY expensive lesson learned. Sad one, too. I had been buying a couple of hundred dollars worth of merchandise from Rocky Mountain each year for the last three years and recommending it to many friends and had just dropped a couple hundred on Valley Vapor over this past year, while recommending them. I won't be buying anything from either vendor again.

I would recommend to folks to NOT purchase too many batteries ahead of time unless they have something in writing from the vendor that guarantees how long the battery will work. I also recommend that everything be tested immediately after purchasing it. Make sure all atomizers work, all batteries charge and hold their charge, and all chargers work properly.

Yes, grandmato5, I just saw that, too. One month warranty on a $25 product. Yes, if you break it down, still cheaper than analogs. But, if you just convinced your husband that it was a hell of a lot cheaper and then all of your batteries and the starter kit go out at the same time, leaving you with a bottle of useless ejuice, it no longer seems so cheap since you have to run out and buy the dang analogs anyhow to tide you over until the next order can come. I just read another response from Valley Vapor. All chipper and "gosh darn" wish they could help but jeez, here's a 10% off coupon code and you can just buy yourself another passthrough from us and have another go at it! RIIIIIIIIGHT! Clueless customer service.

Out of curiosity, you mentioned that you have been vaping for 3 years. Are any of these batteries 3 years old? Lion batteries have a shelf life on the order of 2-3 years regardless of whether they are used or how they are charged.

Obviously that wouldn't explain the issues with the passthrough battery as you mentioned you've only had it for a few months, but it might be a factor for the other batts.

I had similar issues with 3 Ego batteries dying in rapid succession (all were close to 2 years old), and I've invested in a true passthrough (not just an Ego battery with a USB port on the bottom), which is something you may want to consider keeping around for emergencies. As long as you get one without the battery box (ie: not the Joyetech one), there are no batteries to worry about and it should have no shelf life issues as a result.
