Hi. This thing is awesome as a dripper but I'm having some issues with the wicking as a tank set up. I'm using 2mm ekowool as the wick for the coil with a 4/5 wrap of 28g kanthal. Am also using 2mm ekowool for the vertical wicks. Without using ss mesh for the verticals it hits fine but the verts end up moving up and then I get dry hits. Using ss mesh with the 2mm holds them in place but I still keep get dry hits. I'm wrapped at .9 ohms. Are there any solutions? Anyone else have this problem? Should I add a wrap? Perhaps some 2mm ekowool with a strand of 1mm silica instead of ss mesh for the verticals? 3mm ekowool will not fit through the holes. Is anyone drilling them out? I realize I'm a little late in the game for this product, but maybe that's in my favor...maybe there are some easy fixes. I love how it vapes and even more so how it looks on my maraxus! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'd like to thank everyone for all the helpful input in solving this dilemma (snicker) =D Vertical steel wicks helped a great deal but not for chain vaping. So I replaced the horizontal with ss mesh as well and it was actually wicking too well...i.e. excess juice in the drip well. So now my horizontal wick is 500 ss mesh with two strands of 1mm silica set in the drip well. 28g kanthal, 4/5 wrap. .97 ohms. 500 ss mesh for vertical wicks. All wicks are solid, not straws. Vapes like a champ. This thing is so much more consistent than the kayfun 3.1, holds more juice and is more efficient with it, and is easy on battery life. Hopefully this helps someone else.

Thanks. I watched it before I built it the first time. Since I was still having issues I watched one from madvapes as well. My current setup is working great. Maybe someday I'll try the original build again...but for now I'm sick of experimenting! I bet ss horizontal wick with some silica and 2mm ekowool for the verticals would work well. Am a big fan of the flavor from 500 ss so I'm happy right now.
