I'm new to rebuildables and am vaping the EHPRO kayfun Lite Plus v2 rta, and am generally happy with it, but I'm not loving the way I have to wrap the coil legs around a screw to install a new coil. Wrapping the legs around the screws isn't so bad, but I'm having a lot of trouble positioning the coil and getting the leg length right.

I suppose I'll get better at it with practice, but I have a dual coil atty (which I don't intend to use) that has through-hole/setscrew binding posts, and those posts are really easy to use. If I get the coil positioned and find I need a bit more or less leg length, I can just back out the setscrew and push/pull a bit more leg through the hole until I get it the way I want it.

According to the photo on this page, it looks like Kayfun does make a single-coil atty with through-hole/setscrew posts:

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement base for my EHPRO that has these kind of posts?

I'm pretty sure that hole in the the terminal post is not intended for shoot-and-screw - also, that type of design on a KFL deck would most likely lead to shorts against the chamber. I used Kayfuns for quite a while (back a year ago or so) and tot his day I remember them as being one of the easiest and fastest builds. If you just leave the coil wrapped around whatever rod/bit you wrapped it on and set it between the posts, hold it perpendicular to the post itself ad just tie off the legs - it is super quick and simple. I actually miss it! I might pull one out and build it up for old time sake! ;-) Granted, for this particular device, I never did use a clone - but I'm sure there prob zero difference.

What I like to do is leave the drill bit (or whatever your using to wrap the coil) in when installing the coil. Then press down on the coil in the middle of the deck when wrapping the legs.

Totally agree. Practice makes perfect and the kayfun style deck is a very popular design, in my opinion for a reason- it's easy to build on.

Apologies for the delayed response! I somehow neglected to subscribe to the thread and assumed I had no responses when I received no notifications.

I've been building these bases as you guys have suggested, and it has indeed become easier over time.

I'm pretty sure that hole in the the terminal post is not intended for shoot-and-screw - also, that type of design on a KFL deck would most likely lead to shorts against the chamber.

Good point. I hadn't considered how the coil has to be positioned above the posts instead of beside or between the posts as on other bases with grub screws.

What I like to do is leave the drill bit (or whatever your using to wrap the coil) in when installing the coil. Then press down on the coil in the middle of the deck when wrapping the legs.

I saw that done on the first build video I watched and did my first build around a drill bit, which I used as you suggested to help hold and position the coil when tightening down the screws. Soon after, I started wrapping around a Phillips screwdriver, which, because of its size and imbalance, was useless for that technique. I recently picked up a Coil Master jig and am using the winding rod to help set the coil like in the picture you posted. I didn't realize until then how much extra trouble that screwdriver was causing me.

Totally agree. Practice makes perfect and the kayfun style deck is a very popular design, in my opinion for a reason- it's easy to build on.

Agreed. I've picked up enough practice over the weeks that building has become a quick and easy routine.

Thanks again, guys!

Hey Foggy, where'd you find the deal on those Ehpro's? I've been waiting for Fluid Vapes to restock on the KFL+v2's, but it's looking like that's not going to happen and I want to put a couple more of those on the shelf while they're still available.

Also, FYI, Fluid Vapes still has the white EHPRO KFL+2's in stock at $4.99/ea, RDA's/RBA's : Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Dual Airflow Clone by EHPro. If I had to pick a least favorite color, it'd be the white, but it's hard to argue with the $4.99 price and they ship from the U.S..

No, I went to the site on the 4th for the one day sale. Was there at 2:30am and the Kayfuns were already cleaned out. Just as well. I was given a brand new eleaf Lemo a few months ago and never bothered with it. Finally dug it out of its box and threw a build on it, REALLY liking this thing! Ordered another off Fleabay!
